It wasn't Rob, although I asked Rob if he could remove my content from there. They didn't remove it but I appear as a banned member; or did. I find myself on google searches from time to time. I think I'm just a deleted member now but I could be wrong.
 
I always thought that if you mention the BBS airgun forum on here, you would probably get a ban? How many members do they have compared to here on AGF?
 
Why are a lot of people on here gleefully denigrating Airgun BBS, a sister forum covering our sport? ALL airgun forums serve the same purpose and that is supporting air gunning as a pastime, hobby and sometimes an occupation.

There is room for all forums and there is no need for this disrespectful and childish attitude.

There's always a few Neil who like to knock the BBS. I've been on there years as you know and never had a problem with them. Seems a few on here got banned from there and take every opportunity to have a go.

Anyway I like both here and there :)

Agreed. I’ve always found the bbs a very useful, friendly and informative site, with virtually no arsey members on it. I agree the platform is a little antiquated, which sadly doesn’t help against malevolent ddos etc attacks.

They have 48+k registered members but that may include banned members . One of the Mods there was asked if banned members are still counted as registered members and he said he did not know.

A lot of their members have joined and never posted or posted once or twice and not visited again so they still count . I seem to recall they had a setting where it listed all the members and gave their post counts and some had very few posts but they are still counted as registered.

Some will be sleeper accounts. They only become active when the other account is temp banned or permanently banned as some member's did . One member has had multiple accounts banned and they were all opened years before he was banned and they then became active when he got a ban . Forward planning worked for him for a while and he may still be there under another old account opened years ago and never posted.

Some are banned and others have been driven away by the actions of one or two Mods and they don't seen to be able to act on those Mods who are driving them away .
 
I dont see the point of bashing another forum 🤷🏼‍♂️, there are good people on all three forums I regularly frequent, and all three have useful information, BBS seems to be a regular target for gate way issues, whatever they are 🤷🏼‍♂️, I find that there is a lot less activity on the other forums, here is a lot livelier so I poke my nose in more ofter here 👍
 
I've been a member there for 20 odd years but in recent years have only stopped by to look at sales.
I've been unable to log in and the site didn't recognise my email address to reset the password. I guess I've been banned.
 
My issues with BBS is how archaic it is. The text is tiny and can't be read on a phone and you can't post pictures (or if you can, I never worked out how)

Down the bottom of the page is an option for mobile view, the pictures are a challenge and well beyond my paygrade!!!

Have you not read what they did to our mod team a while back? Sister forum? It's a pity they don't think that way.
 
I don’t really understand the tribalism, or need for this thread.

Use whatever forum you want, some are better than others, some have nicer ‘staff’ than others, but any forum is only as good as its members.

A forum is just a platform, it’s the content and people that make it a community.
