Battery Boosters

I have one of these and as it uses capacitors rather than batteries so it does not need to be left charged up but uses the residual left in the flat battery to charge itself, I think it needs at least 3v in the battery. You can also charge it via the mains or from another car and again as it is capacitors it only takes about 2 mins to charge it up.

I did used to have one of the battery powered solutions but found that it lost charge when left in the boot and when you wanted to use it unless it was 100% charged it just didn't work very well but this was a cheapo thing from amazon.

I have used the Sealey solution above to start a number of cars and bike including my ride on which always has a flat battery come the spring and its always started them with no problem

My wife's car, due to lack of use and being old occasionally kills the battery. For instance 3 weeks last November stood in the cold at Bristol airport . Noco in the boot no problem. We usually use it a couple of times a year and change it very occasionally maybe twice a year or less . I suspect many people leave them on charge or change them too often guaranteed to kill them . Would not be without one now . Thoroughly recommend.

I have had one for years. It was a cheap and cheerful generic thing bought at a petrol station a long time ago. It started everything I asked it too but has finally died.
I replaced it with this. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0D73B4...40IE1KNYZ&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1
I haven't used it yet, but went for this as I like the idea of being able to inflate tyres without running cables out as an added bonus.
Whatever you get, please make sure it is kept charged. A flat jump battery is only good as a paperweight. My car has a socket in the back which only comes on with the ignition switch so I keep mine plugged in there. If you don't have such luxury it is easy to wire something in and they don't need much power.
Well I got to use the compressor side of the Gooloo A3. I will try to keep it polite and say it had to be returned. I was putting air in a friends bicycle tyre and it ate its own piston ring which I can only descrbe as a strange inverted U shaped O ring. I contacted the manufacturer and got the generic apologetic response asking for more information, which I sent with photgraphs. Then heard nothing. After a few weeks I rang amazon who were incredibly helpful, they arrange for royal mail to collect it and gave me a refund which went in my bank within minutes of it being collected.
Big issue now is what to replace it with?

Ring Automotive Tyreinflate 1000
Plus:
any of the NOCO jump starters. (size to suit vehicle - and pocket!)
OK - its two items but they are both reliable.

I have one of these as when the car battery failed the RAC came out and used the smaller one not much bigger than a mobile phone.
It has an LED light on as well as usb.
The second picture is the one that was used to start the car.

I ended up buying a NoCo GB40 as it's the same physical size of the GB20 but can apparently delivery a higher current. I bought it when I went on my travels to France.

I have used it to start someone else's bike. The bike cranked for a couple of seconds and nearly caught. He tried again and it turned over about one cycle and stopped. He tried again and all we heard was a click from the solenoid.

Connected GB40. Engine turned over a bit, seemed to back fire and stop. Rest for a few seconds and then the bike fired right up.

If you got it from Amazon return and get the gb45x as it has newer type c charging port/cable and no doubt a little boost in performance over the gb40.
