Just checking that Ballistol Universal Oil is the correct product to use for cleaning and protecting all external parts of my springers: metal, wood, plastic…
Anyone ever had problems with this oil?

Do most of you guys use the bottled/tinned oil?
Any trouble with removing logos, or varnish etc?
Any version is good, but my personal preference is to have a bit on a rag and wipe the rifle down, it does not harm woodwork , and the competition stickers on my rifle have been there for years.

I use the liquid oil from a bottle not the spray, never had any problems with plastic or logos
and it's ok if it gets on the stock but I use CCL gunstock oil on wood for a nice finish.

I persnally prefere Renaissance wax on lint free cloth rub it on give it 5 then buff it up looks and feels great

It’s fine but it stinks. Careful with the Ballistol spray cans, as the nozzles can gum up and need poking out with a needle. I use some (as I bought a kit out of curiosity) , but personally I prefer Browning Legia spray, which is also good for wood and does everything you need (without the repugnant smell) - and it doesn’t gum up.
