Badass Valdada…

It is a great scope, but clearly I need to invest in a ‘blue thing’ to test this ‘badass’! 😆

Yes you can Matt, it is a lovely scope and comes into it’s own if you dial for different ranges. New they are £1850 if you are okay with MOA, £2200 if you want MRAD.

The mini is a 34mm tube, with 4.5-28x50mm dimensions, the full blown G2 Recon is a 40mm tube, 4.8-30x56mm and £2,560 for either MOA/MRAD.

Thanks buddy. Feel a bit silly I didn't search my lazy a.ss self now😅

I would say, if you think these mag ranges are suitable for your rifle and your shooting, plus within budget, then you should consider the Delta Javelin too. Less than a grand new and they are very close in performance.

Watch from 14 mins 30 onwards

See what I mean about doubling your budget to get an extra 10% capability!

And what he thinks is the best (hubble) scope in the world at the moment.

It was tge 2024 roundup i was listening to in the 2am to 4am wide awake period😅

I think my next scope will definitely be a Delta. I'm fairly open to mage range, I just like to play. I'll change my shooting to see what works with what. It's all learning and playing for me.

For example, I'm just as happy missing 25mm spinners at the end of the garden as 2mm circles 🤣

More importantly is buying a 2nd hand unit that I won't loose too much on when I want to try something else to learn about😄

Check out the stalking directory, the javelins come up regularly on there.

I personally prefer athlons, nicer reticules (IMHO) and a lifetime warranty unlike the 10 on the deltas. I run 4x ARES ETR and 1x ARES BTR across my rifles with the APRS1 ret (used Sightron s3 prior and the ares are a step up)

For airgun ranges incl. FAC, the new falcon 40i seems bloody excellent, but I’ve not had chance to use it in anger and test the tracking etc. I don’t like the ret as much ad the athlons tho.

Edit

I very briefly had a Sightron s8 (was used and not as described) and I couldn’t see the extra £1k in it vs the ARES ETR 🤷‍♂️ (looked through to 1.5miles) maybe that’s just my 40year old eyes

I tried the Falcon T50i+ and for the money I thought the glass good but didn't like the ret.

The 40i is FFP and Christmas tree, which suits what I want it for but the ret is still a bit OTT

the athlons keep it simple, everything is 0.2mil, helps my brain do the mathy thing faster 🤣

I'm sure I should be claiming to like only FFP or SFP but I quite like both. My problem with the T50i+ was I found the ret really 'heavy' for and distracting. Sounds silly now I write it 😅

Not all all, if it works it works.

I toyed with the 50i+ for the ftp

I don’t dislike SFP, if I was always shooting known distances it would absolutely have its place, but even with the airguns shooting out to 100y, I prefer to be able to dial my adjustments and call the corrections from the ret no matter the mag, helps with the fullbore shooting as well

So I've had a look at the Javelin. My concern is it only parallaxes down to 25m. The bigger 10-50 stryker go down to 10m. I can't help but feel that makes it a more usable scope? Am I missing something?
