I am looking for a short/ breakdown air rifle (springer) that i can back pack for extended stays in the field.
Something relatively well built like the Umarex Uzi or MP7 would have been ideal if it were not for the low power. Even a good tune would only take it below legal air pistol levels and i would like something that would work as a survival rifle.
The only two viable options are a QB57 which is almost impossible to find here in the UK or the Milbro Savage which has an atrocious trigger linkage system. Does a fix exist to remedy this?
Does anyone else have any other suggestions? Needs to be a springer.

and where exactly are you going backpacking in the uk with an airgun you want to conceal? you can not shoot on public land, and you have to have land owners permission on private land. To shoot anything live would be for pest control and you should have adequate tools for the job not garden tin can plinkers.

These are all shit guns and if you think you'd have something like this for a survival situation, you wouldn't survive lol rip
So tell me an alternative springer that will work in that role then plz.

Going where i am legally allowed to thank you.

anything in the weihrauch hw range ie hw30, hw35, hw77, hw80, hw95, hw99 hw98, airarms tx200, prosport. All accurate robust tried and tested guns

There's only one folding springer I'm aware of that meets your needs n that's the BM8.
There are some good reviews, but it seems more derided

Not sure about that. Looks like a giant piece of Toblerone

Let's stay polite please chaps.

And stick to the question at hand!

The short answer is no, not really.
As mentioned the only compact, full power springer rifle (that I am aware of) is the BM8 survival rifle.

You'd be better with a normal, carbine springer that's short enough to fit into a sleeve/holster, similar to how people carry Henry lever actions.

My HW98 is short enough to be slung or put into a holster on my back for walking round my woods.

There aren't any, so not worth bothering

Buy yourself an HW 30 & don't look back...suitable rifle toting backpack attachments for carry are readily available for standard aluminum frame back packs.

Same as chouchin66 said get yourself a compact lighter weight break barrel and either attach a bag to your rucksack or a sling to the rifle. If you really want to keep the weight down either a small compact scope or use open sights. I personally would go with a hw99 over the hw30 just for a little extra muzzle energy. Not that the hw30 isn’t up to the job that would just be my personal preference.

I would be looking at barrel swappable airguns, then sort out a stock diy.
Beeman black Panther

A 12ft/lb folding springer (including the Venom above) would, I suspect, be an absolute bugger to cock. Without the rigid stock you lose a lot of the leverage. I have a home carbined B2 and that is only about 8ft/lb but you still notice the extra effort to cock it with the shortened barrel.

For a self contained backpack gun off the shelf I'd go for a CP2 and a bag of CO2 cartridges.
