Hi all. Usual thing has happened & the above titled screw is mangled. Does anybody know the size so I can replace it with a stainless grub screw? Happy to tap block if required.

It's the little screw holding block in place.. always under tension! Thought the b''@#%#d screw was the generic name for it. Seems familiar with Hw30 owners

Well. Have been looking on the Internet & the usual UK sources..Chambers/Bagnall/Knibbs either don't have it ( unobtanium) or out of stock. However found a source over the pond. Their price...a meagre $7.48 or so plus shipping... My quest continues lol.

Problem with using a generic grub screw is that the thread is along the entire body so it is possible to screw it so far in that it drops inside the action.
But you can get them from Amazon if so inclined.

The thread is an M4 and 0.7mm pitch.

Is this a positive, eyes on, identification.
The last time I had a HW30 apart I recall thinking it was a fine thread, 0.8 mm pitch M5.
Gun is not with me to check.
I am most happy to be proved wrong.
Doing an internet search AI comes up with differing answers dependant on wording used.

No not measured it just a google search i put in trigger fixing screw it threw that back. from part number 1828 was it.
One thing is certain if it is M5 and a finer thread it wont be 0.8mm , 0.7 is finer.

I've got a thread pitch gauge if needed. It's going to be back end of nxt week at the earliest before I get to have a fiddle/fettle

Is that little screw really neccessary?
Surely the pins through the trigger block and the long screw at the front of the trigger guard hold everything in place.

AFAIK the screw in question is the only thing that holds the end block in when under preload.

You are correct once gun is fully assembled but just like the bayonet fitting on the HW99 it is necessary to fix end block in position so trigger can be located in block and the pins driven home.

Correct 0.8 mm is coarse, M5 fine thread is 0.5 mm pitch.
