Apparently the sun has just given off it's biggest CME since 2017, and it's headed right for us, class X9. There is a great chance for a light show tonight through until tomorrow morning, providing the weather permits.

I will be out and about tonight with my camera, will you?

My wife's in Sweden at the moment and hoping to get a good view.

I'm 75, what are my chances of seeing Halley's comet the next time? :D I'll have a look tonight, you never know your luck.

Forecast is partly cloudy down here. Pretty sure I'll see nowt in the city, even if it does get near this latitude, which I'm equally sure it won't unfortunately.

How far south will be visible, weather permitting?
Article I just read says central England, but I'm sure the last decent one we had a few months ago was visible much further south than anyone predicted. Strongest CME in 7 years so who knows

This was from Sheffield in may

This is a free app which (allegedly) lets you know when you’ve a chance of clocking it in your location. Each time I’ve had a ’red’ alert, it’s been cloudy 🤦‍♂️

Looking at their desktop version doesn't show any imminent activity across the UK. 🤷‍♂️

I'm now seeing 10pm-1am tomorrow night has the highest probability according to free trackers, but I'll be out checking either way, they are not always accurate
