Do these chronograph require a threaded barrel?

I'm interested but most of my rifles are springers without a silencer thread.

Sorry if it's a silly question.

as well as the threaded adaptors there are also slip on adaptors for moderators or unthreaded barrels. not sure if they come in the kit or are available separately though. check out the website or chuck him a dm mate

Thanks. As long as I know they make the adaptors (makes sense as to what I saw in some pictures on their website now) I'm happy.

Thanks for the reply.

Would it be possible to have an adjustable undertray type fitting similar to the Combro chrony to enable just one adaptor to fit all barrels and models? I don't fancy having a pocketful of different adaptors. I appreciate the Combro requires a precise fit, or it is liable to get damaged, so a universal Nate adapter would require creative invention.

No this isnt going to be feasible, you'll have endless alignment issues & incorrect readings.
The best solution is the standard variable adapter setup - clamping onto a barrel.

For someone with lots of *VERY* different barrel profiles (sights, underlevers) the muzzle mount is not the best solution for you. We'll be working on a different solution for that this year.

Nate, I have recently purchased your chronograph and it works faultlessly on my various HW100's. I also have an HW97 and bought the large adjustable adaptor for this, I can get the chronograph centred to the bore using one of the large segments on the top of barrel, this doesn't leave room for a segment below the underlever housing. Have you or another user have a solution?
Thanks
Soapy

Hey Soapy - the alignment of the unit is INSANELY CRITICAL, if its out by 1-2mm you'll get endless missed shots & reboots due to mis-alignment. I wouldnt say its impossible - but using shims or packers would be really hard to get right.

We do a specific 97k adapter - there should be a few in the UK, call a few of the retailers that stock our product & they should be able to get one for you, otherwise let me know.

Thanks Nate, I'll look for the adaptor.

I’d be really grateful if you would please get back to my email & DM messages as regards adaptors. ta

Don’t suppose that you managed to acquire adaptors? I’ve also got springers Mercury & Hurricane. Are you fitting a NateChrony to either?? ta

@squealeyhealey,
With the NateChrony, any gun with a foresight or an under-lever housing close to the barrel will require a special adapter to get the chronograph aligned properly.
Nate makes adapters for a few guns with these characteristics such as the TX200 and the HW97 (although this does not fit the HW97Kt without modification, which is not recommended) but not many. His adapters otherwise fit threaded barrels in place of the moderator, or you can buy an adapter which goes over a moderator.
As far as I know, there is no adapter for the BSA Mercury or the Webley Hurricane and, for the latter, I suspect it would be difficult to do.
To avoid the fit problem you could buy a stand alone chronograph which you shoot through such as the NateChrony Extreme Ballistic or the LMBR.
There are other chronographs which attach to the barrel which may be useable with your guns but I have no experience of them.
I can vouch for the accuracy of Nate's products.
I hope this helps.
