I would let others shoot my rifle if I was with them, but I still wouldn’t be entirely comfortable with it. The problem is the fact that everybody treats stuff with a different level of care and respect.

They might ding the stock a tiny bit, or see a speck of fluff on the scope lens and wipe it off with their finger, that kind of thing.

As for lending a gun to somebody to take away and shoot on their own, absolutely no way. The same goes for any nice kit I might have. I‘ve made the mistake of lending stuff to people in the past, and it often got returned with some issue, which they would invariably deny all knowledge of.

That's bang out of order, I think finger to eye should put a stop to that sort of behavior!!🤣🤣, I threatened to break the trigger finger of a nipper that stuck 5 on top of each other with my set up🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️, bloody nerve of some people !!🤣🤣🤣
I am of course talking about our very own @1260engineer .....
So he is sort of forgiven 😉😉

I would not let anyone "borrow" one of my guns, eg: take it away. I made the mistake of lending tools to people in the past, and got them back damaged, so never again! lesson learned.....

If someone shows an interest in my rifle at the range then I’ll offer them the chance to shoot it. You don’t often get the chance to shoulder some rifles to see about the fit.

Only with those nearest and dearest under strict observation.
I once lent my brother my first pcp AAs410 and when I went to collect it I said where is it,he replied out the back on the table. It had been persisting down all night and morning and my pride and joy sat on a table in it all night.Had to go to my happy place or I’d still be doing a fifteen stretch😒
Yeah , i lent my brother my HW50s for a while & stupidly forgot to check it over when i picked it up, next time i went to use it had a few shots to check zero & noticed a bit of slop in the stock, had a look & the front fixing screw through the trigger gaurd was missing, cost me the neck end of a tenner from chambers inc £3.50 post as he said i should have checked it befoe shooting & i'd lost it! I'd hecked the area of grass i was standing on in my allotment with a metal detector after half an hour on my hands & knees looking with a magnet!

I do but only in when I'm there. I don't mind any one using mine . Let people I have known only a few minutes use my rifles. They let me use theirs too.

When I'm at the club I quite often offer a quick go with the gun if they show interest, guy the other week got there, set up and his clx wouldn't cock, he was about to go and I said wait I'll get you my impact to plink about with as you've paid to get in, a few mags later he went home happy 😊

"Depends on the other person" for me.

I let my Nephew treat pretty much whichever of mine as his own when we're shooting because he'll listen to any instruction and act with care and common sense.
Likewise a friend/ex-workmate who I also have full confidence in.

At the club I've let other members have a go (and also been treated likewise) , although that's only after a quick discreet observation that they know what they are doing (or under instruction & close supervision if a newbie, again after a quick once over that they're not likely to do anything silly )

On the other hand there are folk who I wouldn't trust to safely handle a pea shooter, so it's a no-go for them.

Some people are curious about the scopes too, and want to have a look through them. . Naturally, this evolves into taking a few shots. :)
This reminds me of one of the open days, they had been using the ranges guns (I honestly couldn't tell you what the scopes are) and as the couple had been throwing a fair bit of lead down the range, I offered them the Anschutz with a big Nikko, the conversation went along the lines of 'OMG you just HAVE to look through this, you can see the insects on the grass' and then promptly started hitting 20mm kills at 40 yards :) sometimes its the little things (y)

Yeh, not a problem to me. Don't really have anything that most would go out their way to ask to shoot but if they did and I deemed them competent/trust worthy to do so I don't have an issue. Like wise I quite happily let friends and family use them under my supervision/instruction. Although, it's firmly an ASK FIRST!!! I do get annoyed by people who just start touching my stuff without speaking a word to me!

I have done before but since not changing my rifles for a good while most have seen mine but I do find if I take the .20 to the range i get asked questions about the cal so I just hand it over and say try it for yourself it's set at 35 yards for zero
