As per the title, anyone got or had one of these? what are your thoughts on it? seems to be a fair few reviews saying the coffee comes out not hot enough? but then loads of people saying they're really happy with it too?

Me and Mrs. Gilly are on the fence about purchasing one, we 100% want a bean to cup machine, were just unsure which is going to be the best for our money. These are on sale at the moment and appear to tick all the boxes of what we'd want, but I'd be grateful for any "real world" views on it.

cheers!

I bought the cheapest de longhi bean to cup 5 years ago. Almost as good a buy as my compressor! Only prob was a slight leak on the steam valve after 4 years. An easy fix with 2 spare O rings.

Delonghi make good machines, my current "manual" espresso machine is a delonghi and it's been absalutely brilliant. It's just so time consuming to make one, it only ever gets used on those rare occasions hence the desire to move to an automatic variant.

Funny you should mention it, at around the 4 year point mine blew a steam hose. easy fix, but how curious.

Yep, we have the EQ6 and although you can adjust the temp settings and configure customised favourites and all that, I find I still pre heat the cups for milky coffees.
Espresso and americano are hot hot, but cappuccino and latte more drinkable immediately.
'hot enough' is a very subjective term though, and I wouldn't say it makes drinks not hot enough, just can't leave them sitting around for ten minutes if you take it milky!
Great machine though, and over a year of daily use and still love it 👌🏽

Cheers muchly @MrBadger very helpful (y) That was the exact problem we had with all the online reviews, "hot enough" is subjective and very few reviews actually went into any detail to give "not hot enough" some actual context.
Once i've worked out how much milk it uses, I don't foresee it being of great difficulty to chuck said amount of milk in a microwave for 15-30seconds to give it a helping hand if i want something milk based. As long as the coffee comes out hot we're all good 👌

I think some people compare the output to buying a Costa or similar, but for me that’s a social beverage so could do with being hotter for longer so you can sit and have a chat or wander round town with a to-go cup. At home coffee is functional, as in I need it to function 😂 so being drinkable within a few minutes is fine by me.

I would have a look at a Ninja Luxe Cafe , makes a mighty fine coffee, could be a good alternative if you are dithering. 👍

I've never been a coffee fanatic, happy enough to have a spoon of instant with a splosh of Bailey's. But I do like the smell of the stuff.
I've just been reading some pretentious braggadocio on another forum about high-end coffee machines and all the ridiculous palaver that can go with them, just to make a cup of 'java'.
I reckon there are thousands of expensive coffee machines stuffed in the back of kitchen cupboards, like breadmakers, pressure cookers etc.
So anyway, last week I gave in and splashed out on a Nespresso machine...........from Aldi.
£19.99, yes, that's nearly 20 quid, with a 3 year warranty and the pods are cheap.
And tbh it does make a nice cuppa.

Delonghi coffee machine. Basic one was around £230 from memory. The milk frother was about as much use as a chocolate teapot. However in 5 years one oring on the water tank was all that was required to keep it going.

I have a bookers card and was getting 1kg of beans that were a drinkable coffee for £8.99 or £7.99 when on offer. Only got rid of the machine a few months ago to a friend as my wife has health issues and certain things were triggering similar to acid reflux.

I miss that machine, much cheaper on coffee to run and one oring in five years says it all really.
