I'm looking into getting a 6mm and naturally the 6cm is a serious contender due to availability of brass and being able to utilize 6mm high bc bullets.

My usage would be range work out to 600yrds and I would have it put to work on Deer and Fox/ small vermin.

I'm drawn to the low recoil and highly efficient Bullets that can be spat out at decent speeds.

Interested in owners or others opinions on the 6mm Creed.

Then the next thing is availability, I see Bergara do a barreled action in 6mm Creed but there seems to be a lacking of factory offerings, howa used to but I can't see any in the uk

Gareth, you should look at a 6mm Br.No more than 31grs of powder, low recoil, brass ready available & real easy to develop a load for.
I loved using mine but sold it to raise funds for other shooting adventures.
...or go Ackley with the BRA...... ;)

6 Creed is a rare beast @Lone wolf - could well be an expensive purchase - although Livens stock the Ruger Gen II which is decent price-wise.

Do you still have your .243? May be worth considering re-barrelling to a faster twist and would shoot the 105-110 grainers with ease......

Would be around a £1000-1200.....

You called?

I shoot 6cr but only for target, it's a 26" Howa heavy barrel Varmint, if you get your local rfd to contact Highland Outdoors they import Howa so may be able to help.
You can turn .243 brass into 6cr, it's not that difficult and involves a trim/size/trim/size approach.
I've done some but I don't want to fire form it and am searching about the web to see if I can just size etc then load up & shoot.
I've never shot any of the orher 6mm's so can't compare them but 6cr shoots really well, feeds from a mag really well and is 308/300TC based so mags aren't a problem, just use a 6.5 or 308 one.

600yds is nothing for a 6cr and you wouldn't have to stoke it right up either.

6mm creedmoor 5 shots 300yds, 115gr Nosler RDF, little low but was shooting g for a group.

Another practically extinct cartridge over here now Chris, no factory rifles now SAKO have stopped making them, and there won't be many on the 2nd hand racks either - fashion 🙄
Wow, Paul, between y'alls location & re barreling rules & lack of reamers ( which I keep forgetting about)...I feel for ya. Here, there's any number of " boutique" cartridge mfgrs. to do as you will., barrel choices a veritable smorgasbord...

6xc would be where i would be going if i was going down the 6mm route .

Then saying that I'm a big fan of the legend that is the .243 win .

Awesome chambering imho , I'm waiting patiently for the Lead ban to come into force and then i going grab myself a nice old Classic blue printed Remmington 700 CDL
when someone sells there because they have been told copper wont work with it 👍👍

Its all just a matter of Time 😂

not a reply to the calibre…but a mate had a bergara and sold it because the bolt doesn’t lock down which he found extremely aggravating after deer…too many missed shots when it had lifted just that little bit and he was on sticks. Shame as they look nice rifles with good barrels…
