Hw80 I have two that being said I prefer the 22 so the 177 may be going.

Chrono it first before anything else. If it's low on power then replace the piston and breech seals and test again. They're arguably easier to work on than a springer. Have a look in the Projects and Builds section for more info. If that doesn't help there are plenty of people on here who know their way around a Theoben. (y)
Thanks - that’s good advice 👍

I didn't say they were nice to shoot simply adding to your statement about the hw80 being able to hit 24ftlb at fac levels
It can but that's not when its best mid teens it shoots super sweet , most should consider their needs carefully your not adding a lot of range , just flatter to 55 yards say than the same at 12 ftlb A 24FT lb is way way easier to shoot well than any 30 fy lb spring or gas ram though those Horrid things and very hard to sell on , especially if the buyer gets a shot or two with

Love them both

My HW90K in .25 finally arrived last week (after a 23 week wait from ordering) but I was away on business.
I collected it Monday and then took it to be tuned up and also had the scope fitted at the same time.
I've only shot it out to about 20 yards so far but it does feel amazing.

The wait was tedious but it's nice when you know a gun was specifically made just for you.
It kinda feels like a Theoben to shoot but better made if that makes sense ?

I'm well happy with it.

I know what you mean, the 90 is still my go to gun and the one I get most enjoyment from. There’s something about that smooth thud and unforgiving hold sensitivity that keeps me reaching for it, so rewarding to shoot well

HNbelatedGD btw

I had a 90, sold it. Missed it. Bought another one!
I had Theoben make an ultra carine barrel in .177 and at the time they stated that high speed photography had proven that the lock time was so fast that the pellet had exited before there was an 'recoil'
It certainly is very accurate... just a bitch to cock at 11ftlb

Both are great and as said worth having both if you can eventually. The advantage of the 80 is it’s cheaper than the 90 but ….out the box the 90 is already tuned so to speak. Smooth and fast “lock” time. My 80 was a bit twangy and not as smooth out the box but after tuning is as good as the 90 …so to get the 80 as smooth and consistent cost me , probably more overall than the 90. I love them both but if I had to choose one it’s the 90. These are both in .177 though .

HW80 gets my vote . Love my old gal in .22 flavour . Just works no matter what , A true workhorse , No fuss or frills . Although I will admit I put a Tbt kit in it , which gave it a new lease of life.

I thought them better to shoot than the few theobens I've tried , especially the trigger .
