I returned a couple of low value items to Amazon that were dispatched direct from themselves. Rather than have the value of the refund applied as an Amazon credit which I normally do that's triggered after the return is initiated at the post office I decided to have the refund back to my bank account. Somewhat surprisingly I received an email which contained the paragraph below, Funny how they can do things pretty much immediately when its in their interest to do so
.
"We will issue your refund upon processing your returned item in our return centre. From the moment you send your item, it can take up to 14 days to arrive and be processed by Amazon. In some situations, refunds may take longer."
