I have a air arms S400F. I've just removed the anti tamper screw so I can adjust the power. I want to get it just below 6ft/lbs for 10m competition.
I removed the screw as mentioned, did not see any allen key screw behind it, unless it's very small. I inserted the adjustment screw with hardly much adjustment. Some advice would be appreciated.
Baz.

Hi mate, I know you are asking about lowering power, but the same advice could also be used to increase power, therefore...you need to be aware of forums rules, (which you agreed to when you joined), eg: "Do not post anything relating to the power adjustment of air rifles or pistols on any open forum."
Or maybe word the query differently, or maybe DM a mod and ask if its ok first....Cheers

The actual adjuster screw behind the covering screw is a grub screw and may not be immediately obvious.

All done now... Well I got a surprise... Set to 5. 8 ft/lb. Thought I would try it out on the 20 metre range at out club to see what the difference would be.... Stood up shooting. The first 5 pellets all in the bull. Blown away. So in theory I should get more shots for my air...and more importantly the accuracy is there.... Happy days.

Restricting the transfer port won't help shot count as much as you'd hope

If shot count is an issue you can turn the valve pot in , Degas/open the air cylinder, turn the pot clockwise 1 full turn , open up the transfer port resistor a little
