If you have Netflix, 'All Quiet on the Western Front' has been recently added to the film section. I watched it last night and must say it's well worth putting the time aside for. It's hard to watch, not because it's a German film with subtitles, but because it's depiction of war is so visceral and a reminder of why war is so useless.

Lest we forget.

We watched it along with our grandson and after we made a couple of antiwar comments
he said ...... do you realise that without wars you would still be living in caves and wouldn't have
many of the things that you presently own. Hmmm!

I watched it last week - a very good film i thought from a different perspective than i am used to.......
The grim reality and suffering was the same though

I have been in live action and must admit it frightened the
cr-p out of me, but i did my job and the problem was dealt with.!!

"And do you realise that an unwelcome flippant comment often earns a clip 'round the ear, now go to your room!"😃

I watched it after reading a thread about it on a different forum. It was very enjoyable. I found myself immersed after just a few minutes.

On a slightly different note, it’s sad to see that the Germans had the same issue of lies lies and more lies. Different from the lies our boys were told, but still resulting in a huge body count.

Truth, of course, is perhaps one of the first casualties of war!
