Hi everyone,

I'm looking at buying a second hand air rifle from a private seller and wanted to get an idea if what I am buying is worth the money. Could I please ask you how much you think a fair price is for the following:

Daystate Wolverine B Mk. 1 - excellent condition.
4.5 -27 x 50 athalon midas scope.
5l 300 bar dive bottle.

Thanks!!!

£850 to £950 is a ball park figure depending on condition/extras/test on cylinder etc..........

The package means your having got go with what is offered rather than what you want, which is a minus unless your getting a decent price ;)

Worth checking the date on the dive bottle as one at or near EoL is worth a lot less than a new one due to the cost/hassle of re-certifying it.
The scope alone looks to be in the £350 - £400 range second-hand with rings but different variant may have different prices.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your feedback.

So the dive bottle is about 6 months old.
The kit is being sold for £920, which is similar to what you guys have said.

Should i buy it? Or should I put the money towards a newer rifle?

Thanks!

It all depends on if you really like the whole set up and if the rifle fits you well, the age wouldn't put me off at at as they're a solid rifle and mine was very accurate plus I didn't realise the scope was such a high end model when I commented before so I think the price is about right.

Another thing I think is why would you put such a nice scope on a rifle if it wasn't a good accurate shooter too 😉

Thanks buddy.

It seems to have been really well looked after and was serviced about a year ago. I am basically after a PCP with a high capacity, and I'll invest £140 to add a regulator.

The scope is plenty good enough for what I'll use the rifle for.

I don't have a dive bottle so this will also be handy.

I'm having a look at the rifle tomorrow so if it fits well i think it'll be coming home with me 👍

Is the gun in Lowestoft , do you know the seller ?

I agree with Neil you won't really need a reg as they're consistent with plenty of shots as is.

Great rifle and decent scope (most scopes like this are 6-24x50 so getting a 4.5-27x50 is a plus)

Don’t bother with the reg, shoot it over a chrono before buying it to see the spread and check it is accurate in your hands. 5p at 30 yards should be easy. Ask him which pellets work best with it, if you gives you a blank face he probably doesn’t shoot it that much.

Bottom line, if it develops a fault later, there is plenty on here that can help / service it.

They’re a great gun and the price you’re paying for the job lot looks good value to me..

I reckon you should buy it and use it as it is before fitting a reg. if you find it’s ok, you’ve saved yourself some trouble.

Daystate ain’t mugs, great regulated and unregulated….

If your keen on it then it's a reasonable if not great deal. The newer bottle is good, the scope is probably too much for the gun, (I'm guilty of that also though), and the gun is not the most popular, but competent never the less.

I think there may be bits like bags/mounts/moderators etc which when added to the value will make it a good deal depending on what you ultimately get, and like others, I would not be looking to reg it, or I'd put that money towards a different gun like the R version as any money you spend on the gun will only marginally improve it but also be "lost" when selling again later.

Well everyone for better or worse I bout the rifle for £800 + £120 for a full dive bottle (used once).
It is shooting 11.7ftlb on the chrono.
It dis come with a moderator (no idea what brand it is!) and a plano gunslip.

It has a few marks but nothing I wouldn't have done myself!

I'm just going to get a single shot loader, maybe some lower mounts, and some caps for the scope lenses, otherwise I think it's good to go!
