Before paying a fortune for parts from certain company's ie no names mentioned look at your parts diagram the exact size will be on then search the Internet,ie a 3mm ball bearing posted to me from a couple of air rifle spares cost £8 posted where I got 50 3mm ball bearings off the net for £3.25 delivered so just a thought don't get ripped off.

Sizes of o-rings and detente balls etc are very rarely in the owner's manual or the exploded diagrams available online as it stops people doing exactly as you describe. There is a very valuable resource on here with sizes for various rifles and pistols

Sometimes the manufacturers are bit "secretive" about the exact sizes of ball bearings and "O" ring seals, etc, but they aren't using anything magical... they use components which are readily available to wider markets.

These components are generally inexpensive, BUT - for a home mechanic - it can be considerably more convenient to buy a "service pack" with all the goodies labelled as to where they are supposed to go.

Some manufacturers share service part dimensions , notably FX and AGT , most others are a well kept secret , what gun is it that you have 49 spare balls for ?

Once I asked (and complimented) Fredrik about the (then new) concept of publishing stats and dimensions for different sparparts?

-"Because it makes ownership of our products much easier and less expensive for the owner", he replied.

Its really nothing more to it...

True.

But UK and US manufacturers tend to use IMP measured components that is a pain in the.....to source here.....

"Less expensive"....well apart from the inflated prices to buy them & service costs to stop the things leaking...best not mention the cost of replacing their barrels with real ones either.......

Its was refering to generic minor items as seals and o-rings..

Otherwise they have in general (here) low prices on spares (compared to other brands), dont know about in the UK.

Barrels are rarely an issue here either, but we dont shoot 12 fpe...
