Addiction

I took a picture some years back with them on the sofa, even though our current corner sofa
is bigger I don't think it's big enough. :)

I try not to look in the sales section but I am weak and the missus is not looking. She does not
know I can check my card numbers in the banking app, no need to wake her to get my wallet. :)

What is it with Air Rifles ..I have had shotguns and Rifles for years and stick to the same ones..but Air Rifles.. I have lost count..I am always looking for the next… is it just me ?
No, it’s not just you! I keep finding a reason to buy another gun when I don’t have time to shoot the ones I already own!
I use to shoot Clays and had a lovely Berretta shotgun, never had any desire to buy more, one was definitely enough, but not the same with airguns for some reason.
Try to stay away from my local RFD, in case something catches my eye 🫣

Weirdly I think I have reached a point where there aren’t that many guns I would like to own that I don’t already. The daughter has recently become infatuated with a Leyla, and truth be told part of me is slightly disappointed the wife didn’t choose a Krait in laminate, but nothing I buy is going to seriously improve the way I shoot at this point, and unless I go down a specific discipline route, I reckon I have more or less got what I want PCP wise.

At some point there will be a few novelty purchases just because I am curious, but I suspect that’s more the sort of thing that a few magazines when I see someone at the range with one could fix for the most part.

I am also [thankfully] about at this point, I think.

It's partly why I am reluctant to sell any of my guns, as I'll end up selling more, and then the floodgates will be open again!

I doubt I'll ever have a rack of guns that I'm more happy with for as long as I live. Mainly because I can't afford to :ROFLMAO:

One of the attractions for me, with air rifles, is that you can shoot them in many more places than FAC or shotguns, also there's no need to worry about a stray round killing your friend's Aunty in the next village, or fatal ricochets. Add to that, the ammo is relatively cheap as chips, even with the odd charge of air in a tank, and that's a pretty convincing set of reasons to love air rifles.

I don't like to sell guns, but I have to temper my inclination to hoard guns, with the fact that the Mrs doesn't like to trip over the things either (all locked in hard cases or in a gun cabinet, as I have a 9-year-old son in the house).

Now, I tend to keep a few which I just can't part with, the rest get sold as I see a new one I want.

Is it a search for the perfect one? You get what starts as a fantastic rifle, then become dissatisfied and move on. Or, you get rose tinted memories and start saying, my old "X" was better, and move the current favourite on. The search continues.

Then there are those that get one either because it's at a great price, they've always wanted one, add to the collection, etc.

2 years ago I decided to keep / have just one and sell the rest. Then decided to keep one as a backup. Managed for 9-10 months then got another.

It's in the blood I reckon, like women with handbags or shoes, or in my wife's case, hoovers.

Yeah, it's an affliction that affects many of our community, and for a mixture of the reasons given above.

There can be pauses and quiet spells, along with a healthy dose of denial, but in most cases it is uncurable. I was in remission for nearly a year, but it's back.

I have been air gun member here for 5 months and two months learking. I have a collection now 😂 so yes it is very addictive but you need to slow down and enjoy what you have now. I learnt that from great members here with their advice.
