Acceptable Groupings for a budget PCP at 20 yards

Well it's worth taking a few shots just thinking about the trigger analysing what is going on.
How long is the first stage?
Is that comfortable for me?
Is the second stage always in the same place?
Is the second stage a definite recognisable position?
When you pull the second stage how far is your finger travelling?
When you pull the second stage how long in time does it take, do you find yourself thinking any moment now? (this is creep)
Does the second stage always let go in the same time and space as above?

Hello, When ever i see these type of posts i never read of checking scopes on POI , Maybe it is not the case, Try another pellet, But using the scope adjusters and having the rifle in a clamp ??
When pellet testing you don't generally adjust the scope. POI (Point of Impact) is irrelevant as long as you are able to concentrate on aiming consistently at the same point or POA (Point Of Aim).
The aim is to determine which pellets group the best. As you can see above POI changes from pellet make / type to pellet make / type. Once you've chosen the best grouping pellet then you can adjust the scope so POA corresponds with POI. If you were to adjust to suit each pellet type you may introduce new problems like some scope reticles take a while to settle! They shouldn't but they do depending on quality and condition, leads to chasing your tail...

I suppose using a clamp might prove if a poor group was down to the shooter or the rifle. I'm always analysing was that me? Which it usually is and then occasionally it's a fault developing with the rifle.
