yesterday was a session on the feeder outside the main pheasant pen, as the feeder has suddenly become very popular.
i topped this feeder up on wednesday, got there yesterday morning and there was half a handful of wheat left on the feeder tray and the peanut butter jar was empty. so feeder and peanut butter sorted, net hung on the permanent curtain hooks on the tree that i use for a hide, and 9 turmed up over the next 2 and a half hours to keep the .177 s400 ticking over.
this morning i had a stint on 1 of the feeders on my brothers land. again this feeder has suddenly fired up after a slow few weeks, and was almost empty.
i use the .22 s400 carbine on this feeder as space is a bit tight, so the shorter gun is easier to use. 4 in the first hour, nothing in the second, and 3 in the last hour for a steady 7.
so a terrible weekend for the squirrels, and a bit more ''proof'' that the .177 is marginally better than the .22
