5mm thick 1095 (or similar) offcut

Does anyone have a tiny bit of 1095 they would be willing to part with please?

I'm after a bit 5mm thick by 15mm wide and 30mm long if possible

Or similar grade, so long as I can anneal and re harden it so a can remanufacture a trigger sear

I could saw you off a bit of S154 from a bar end and post it if needed.
Top quality aircraft stainless - certificated and can be hardened after, if thats any use to you.
Given a bit of time during lunch breaks I could possibly surface grind the width to size.
All the bar ends are just scrapped at our place - what a waste

How did it go in the end ?

In the bin

Put a new, standard, sear in and it shot find for a few tins, then had an unintended discharge and refused to cock.

The sear was ok but the engagement surface of the piston was F'ed and completely rounded and rolled so it was pushing the sear up and out of the way.

I kept a bag of bits for if anyone ever wants them and cut the breech block and cylinder in half and binned them

I'm a bit gutted as I actually really enjoyed that gun but it's tried to kill me a couple of times and I stopped trusting it.

I've got a kral devil coming next week and that's going to be my next victim, I mean project
