.25 for sub 12

I'm going to buy a Reximex lieva for a play gun. I've never had .25 and as it's only going to be shot in a garden over 25-40 yards I thought .25 might make it a bit fun!

Only thing is I used to shoot and still do a lille .20, however the calibre lost favour and choice of pellets is slim nowadays.

Do we think the same will happen with .25 or shall I just get it in .22?

I wouldn't worry about pellet availability,.25 is an FAC calibre too so has a good enough market.

The good thing about a .25 is that you get to use all the midots on your scope - makes the scope worth the money

.25 in sub 12 is a great plinker in my opinion, brilliant for feral pigeons and rats as well...

40 yards is possibly on the edge for range at sub 12 but for plinking then why the heck not

.25 is going through a resurgence it seems, all seem to favour them, myself included, I scratched the itch with a .25 NPO2 a while back, can’t fault it, does what it does with ease

I was out today with my HW80 .25 just to check zero. Smacking the wee metal disks out to 50m no problem. Great calibre and not as loopy a trajectory as some claim.

Gone for it and ordered the .25, just think for a garden gun it adds an extra layer of fun.... We'll soon see

.25 is great fun and good for shorter range pesting. I’ve shot my .25’s out to 35 yards with very good results. 25 yards is my max for pests.
It’s also fun seeing the pellet through the scope at distance

I was thinking that would be a fun calibre for one myself. Let us know what you think of it and how it feels. I briefly had a obsolete calibre under-lever years ago and sorely regret letting it go.

It's a great calibre and hugely popular here!

Just perfect out to 80 meters shooting 34 grains JSB King II at 830 fps.

Combine that with a 30 slug shooter launching 44 grains at 980 fps and 80-150 meters is covered too, no need for a 22LR.
