How many of you fine scallywags use .22 for target shooting.....especially at distance, ie 30/40/50 metres ???
A) Just .177

B) Just .22

C) Both (what circumstances?)

HW77 and HW100S both in 0.22" and both used for targets up to 50 yards in my garden, usually bench tested at x12 magnification.
I also have an HW50 in 0.22" which is set up for closer range rafting on x4 mag.
H&N FTT work well in all of them

50 yards....in yer GARDEN.
Us ex council housers only DREAM of 50 yards 😟

I only use .177 for target work. However i have a 35 in .22 and a 97 in .25. I have no issues taking the .22 out to 50yds for knockdowns or spinners. The .25 really is a class act out to 30yds. After that distance i make the sign of the cross before each shot.

I'm PRETTY sure "he" doesn't answer gun owners requests 🤣😅

My friend regularly shoots his .22 R10 at 100yds.
The rifle is set up for this with adjustable scope mounts.

He shoots 6" shoot n see targets and can get all pellets on target.
Not when the wind gets up.

I shoot .177 and .22, .177 in PCPs and .22 in springers. Most springers seem to shoot better in .22 and I have no trouble with accuracy. I dont tend to shoot any further than 40 yards but sure it would be fine a little further out if needed (plinking and targets not hunting).
Another bonus is the .22 pellet is much easier to handle and load, especially with fat sausage fingers!

I shoot .177 out to 100 yds and beyond, too tight to use .22, but I have just discovered slugs in .177 which work well.

I bought this house, in poor condition, 20 years ago from a family that had bought it from the council!
Once they were no longer getting repairs done by the council, it was left to rack and ruin. I basically bought the garden and location and the house came with it!
A lot of time, sweat and money went into getting it comfortable for our retirement. Now I can sit and shoot when I choose, surrounded by fields as my pension doesn't run to putting fuel in the car! 😭
