I have a day state alpha wolf safari
Hw44
BSA ultra 10
And something else I’ve forgotton

What I’d like is a sort of tactical looking rifle. Like a daystate black wolf tactical of fx impact m4.

I find the alpha wolf quite heavy but otherwise great.

Any recommendations at mid price points and a bit lighter as I’d like to splash out on a thermal scope. Also fancy a .22 as all others are .177.

Thanks

I’m going to fly in the face of caution here and recommend the FX DRS Tactical… I know there have been issues with them but I can only speak to my own one which has been excellent. I had a bit of a niggle at the start with it being overpowered (13.1ft.lbs) but that was an easy fix. The magazines can be a bit too tightly wound as well but again, that was easily sorted. :)

Accuracy is excellent and it has a decent shot count to boot… It’s a big leggy with a mod on (I’m using a SAK on mine). The trigger is also an absolute joy to use.

I’m tempted by the taipan slash. Not too bothered by it’s tactical looks tbh but semi auto shooting, build quality and accuracy seem to be spot on

Good call... The Katran (in any guise) is definitely worth a shout. 🙂

Also, I'd better include the AGT Vixen as well. 😁

I've only got the Compact C, but looking at the two guns the OP is looking at the stock on the Pro & the Arca rail hand guard would be a good match.

Never tried a Vixen to say one way or another

Main reason I haven't suggested an S510T is going by the thermal scope, I'm guessing he may use a tripod at some point and I'm not a fan of the leverage any clamp puts through the two grub screws on the AA chassis. Also the magazine capacity on a decent rat perm may be a stumbling point. Great guns otherwise and love mine

Can't fault either of mine, and would be hard pushed to choose a favourite, tho if I did it'd be the Vixen 🥰 If I had to consider value though, the DRS-T is a considerable chunk below a grand, and that's a helluva lotta rifle for £800 ish notes.

Both excellent rifles, crazily accurate, consistent and very capable of decent performance out to 90/100y with the right pellets.

Vixen is very light and almost inaudible with the Badger Special Hal shroud.
DRS definitely has more heft, but retains nice balance (even with a solid barrel in there now) but sounds like a .50 cal until you put a mod on it.

Both, for me, offer head placement challenges and scope choice limitations. These are both excellent with a 14*50 immersive (which they currently share) as this ensures consistent positioning. But that's personal preference.

That looks fantastic. Nice to see a bit of tan to break it up

air arms s510 tactical....i fit an mlok arca rail,,,,very stable on the manbilly carbon tripod

I’m another for the AA S510. I also have a RAW Micro in .22 on order but was told when ordering that they have an accuracy problem with the Walther barrel that they are still trying to correct, to get around the problem they are importing barrels from America, I haven’t enquired as to how this is going since I ordered two months ago

Have used a Tripod clamp on my 510T and it’s no issue. Unless you are going to swing on the clamp. If so I.m sure you could damage any rifle . Never heard of anyone have any problems. You can bolt anything MagPul to customise how you like it too. Best advice is To go look at one, shoulder it and see if it’s just the job . 👍

Thanks all a lot to look at. The TAIPAN SLASH being semi auto sounds interesting though looks pricey the one thing I forgot to ask about on all of these is short count I have a compressor but just prefer a high shot count and not filling up regularly!
