£500 ish pcp pistol, mito, alfa proj ?

If it helps I used the .3mm springs from this pack on my Mito trigger. https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_EQTXOD6

You have to cut them slightly to size but just put the old with the new for sizing. Some people have used .4mm rather than .3mm but I’m happy with my trigger being so light I could fire it by looking at it.

If you change it when it is out of the grip but the side back on put a rubber mat down and bang it reasonably hard on the back to check it doesn’t fire when cocked.

The HW44 would be a bit of a lump at single handed but at rested it’s near on perfect as is the HW75.

Mito Race.
The Mito but with a few upgrades, the main one being the trigger. It’s adjustable down to crazy light, without the need to modify with springs etc. the length of the first stage is fully adjustable too.
On top off that. It looks ace!

I am as far from being a pistol expert as you might find. However, if you're looking for a 'jack of all trades', i.e. a pistol that will happily plink, 'target' and 'rifle', then I can genuinely recommend the Mito.

As @PartTimeLegend mentioned above, the trigger does need some tweaking, but for around £5 and 10-15 minutes' work, it can quite literally be transformed. OK, it won't be 'match' good, but not a million miles off.

Accuracy is genuinely as good as anything available. I recently put mine through its paces at around 20 yards rested (stock and scope fitted), and found that it shot quite accurately with most pellets, and produced genuine one-hole groups with AA Express (7.87gr) pellets. I haven't yet had the chance to test it further out, but I am fairly confident that it should remain as accurate at longer distances.

£500 will actually buy you a fair amount of kit...

£350 will get you the synthetic version with the stock, or the walnut grip (no stock), from Range & Country. I have occasionally seen them at around £335, and on occasion, as low as £290 via Pellpax.
£30 will get you a BobP adjustable target grip, should you wish to enhance the 'target' experience.
£110 will get you a BobP fully adjustable target stock, should you wish to build a versatile 'jack of all trades'.
Please note BobP is no longer doing rear stocks. He is still doing other bits.

I’m hoping if he is going to stop making stocks completely that he will make his files available for others to make them. Even if he sells them on cults to cover his costs it would be good to continue the mod community.

I wouldn’t do that if I were him - firstly, there would be ‘BobP’ stocks everywhere of extreme variabile quality which would do nothing for his reputation, and secondly, people have a habit of passing on 3D files to others, so you’d sell 5 files and there’d be 20 stocks printed.

It just seems a shame to no longer have a product available. I understand the time that goes into printing and building things as I do a fair amount of commercial printing.

It might lead to lower quality items but if he’s not interested in printing them anymore it would allow the modding community to continue.

Alternatively he could possibly allow certain trusted and quality tested makers to have licenses to make his products. My understanding is he’s cottage industry with a full time job and scaling is the issue. So working with a dedicated production company under licence would make the most sense to me.

I’m not looking to take over his prints. Though if they were made available to print my own I’d definitely do it.

Lots happened since I posted last. On Wednesday afternoon I found another alfa proj for sale near Stockport. I had a drive over and part exd my pp700 in for it.

Saturday I went out to zero it with a new red dot fitted. My wife came along for some fresh air. She also shoots but has had to stop using her rifles for a bit after suffering nerve damage in her left arm caused by radiotherapy. She shot pistols with me for a bit and found it was ok and not causing her any pain.

So she now has quite a bit of enthusiasm for pistol shooting. We ended up driving to Redbeck shop and ordered her a mito race.

I bought a Mito 3 weeks ago. I’ve polished the sears and changed the trigger springs for lighter ones and it now shoots very well for the budget price.
I’ve bought it to use for 25m pistol benchrest using a Veyron scope. My HW100 moderator fits and quietens it down perfectly. First attempts are promising. Better than expected and recommended.
