Is there anybody that lives in south Essex that can help me get my BSA Super 10 firing like it should do. I am pulling my hair out with it as I dont have the knowledge how to even start with it.

Thanks in anticipation

As above, maybe explain what the symptoms are for people to offer suitable suggestions?

Okay here we......every time i fill the buddy bottle and screw it in it leaks. I have purchased a huma reg and a best fittings bottle valve so its all new...i have bought new washers and it still leaks.i bought a new carbon buddy bottle from bagnalls and it arrived too big to screw in. Even the fill adaptor is now leaking from the air bottle...i have a whole set rubbers coming plus the washers with rubber in the middle. I am going to send the carbon back and replace with a new aluminium one. Then the rubber fell off the back of the butt..its just one thing after another. I live near rayleigh gun shop but was hoping I wouldnt need them. Hope this helps.
Why would a new valve and regulator leak its beyond me.

They probably aren't leaking :) . With the bolt closed is air coming out of the barrel. Put a balloon or condom (unused:D) over the end of the barrel to check it. If air leaks from there it is the exhaust valve at fault.

Ok here goes throwing some things at the wall....

Some brand new bottles can sit around in storage and the valve get sticky. Is it a little hiss or gush?

I had a new old stock BSA bottle give a little hiss due to sticky valve, so just exchanged it for another, problem fixed.

Is the pepper pot on the Huma screwed all the way in?

Is the carbon bottle neck more suitable for original reg, not the Huma, rubber pad in wsy.

Did you measure Huma rod to match original reg rod length?

Have you tightened the Huma up as much as possible, gave you left original reg support screw in?

I removed support screw, but did use a little square of chamious leather as a shim, making sure it doesn't block Huma breath hole.

Just a few things for now.

Had mine out this morning bagging a few quarry, stick with it it's worth it.

4 more bits fell out today while I was attempting to check the seal between huma and buddy. The bits go into the back of the barrel..i am going to cut my losses because the list is ridiculous..i wont ever consider an older rifle to be nice to have...i bought a lemon.

I have new seals coming to see if the current ones are worn. I have new washer seals for the oxygen whip connector just in case.
When I removed the rifle from the stock a locating plastic barrel with a small threaded piece in fell out and then when saw the hole at the back of the rifle a plunger type piece of plastic with a long spring on it fell out too...it looks like they are all connected 1 way or another but I will need time and diagrams to see whats what. Every time I work on the gun to sort the air leak out between the buddy and the regulator something else drops off

Okay here we go. The new carbon buddy bottle was 5 mm too big it wont go into the stock hole....its gone back and exchanging for an ali one...fingers crossed it works.
Yes I measured the old reg length and made the huma the same length.
Yes it was tightened but will really tighten again. NOT SURE ABOUT THAT OLD REG SCREW..WILL CHECK.
I WILL USE SOMETHING AS A PAD LIKE YOU DID.

I hope i can stick with it and make it good.

So it leaks from bottle so much it empties it, plus the whip connector to the fill adaptor leaks too. I have seals coming today for those issues hopefully. I will check to see what an exhaust valve is on the S10

This doesn't make sense
I unscrewed the trigger guard...2 screws..the larger screw seems to hold a plastic barrel with a pin coming out of it...looks like a locating pin to hold the other bits that fell out of the back of the rifle workings... so i just looked up an exploded diagram and its the hammer action that has come out..springsxand ball bearing too. Looks like the bearing is lost as is the spring..so 6 bits all in all fell out..

Find the you tube video he shows you where the spring and ball fit in the block also tells you size of the ball the trigger mechanism looks a bit complicated but the rest of the gun doesn't look too bad. Hopefully you won't have to touch the trigger mechanism maybe someone can post the video for you i don't know how to do it sorry .

The trigger mechanism looks like its seperate to the hammer workings. I cant work out why me taking out the metal rifle from the wooden stock would make it all come tumbling out. Thanks for your help I really do need and appreciate it.
