Hi all, as stated in the title wondering the pros and cons of these regulators specifically for the bsa ultra se.
I’ve searched on a lot on the forum but didn’t come to a clear choice on which one to pick…
It may be a bit subjective so all opinions thoughts whatever please do feel free to post below. TIA

Huma has been there for like ten years and I haven't heard many complaints. Easy installation as well.

I havent had a lane but ive owned two R10s one with Huma the other with Tench.

After scrutinising both the Tench did more shots per charge, might be worth a look if they do one for ultra, but I dont know if they need machining to fit.

I only own one R10 now and thats the huma simply because ive had the rifle from new and fitted all the bits myself so I would say the huma is more for diy, but the tench regged gun was super consistent and accurate in fact I sold it to my hunting buddy he still clssses it as his favorite gun.

Wow hats of to you mate they’re very well put together, I think it’d be my favourite if I had it to lol.

I didn’t include the tench reg as wanted one I could fit myself but if read that the lane a very similar design.

But I’m pretty confident will be going with lane, which is great as there made here in the uk. It was who I was hoping to get it from at first just wanted to make sure I wouldn’t be missing out on more performance as we do lol. But all I can do now is wait and hope all goes well. 🤞

Many Thanks for all the feedback guys 🙏.

I put a Huma in my FTP900 about 5 years ago, has been untouched from the day it was fitted, it has been consistent and never had an issue.

But, if I was buying new now, I would go for a Lane regular, as others have said, well made and the after sales is really good, and UK based.

Lane without a doubt. His regs are better designed, better made and better value, back up is superb.

In a choice between Lane and Huma, then I will go with the Lane as well for the exact same reasons that @Blackmax states.

If money is not an issue then ISP would be on the menu too and (if you can still obtain them) Joe Korick or Dave Welham regulators.

I’ve a lane reg in one of my Artemis p10. They are very well made and you can ask him to set at desired pressure, works a treat. TBF also had one a my old R10 and that was very good, mind you anything is better than bsa’s attempt of a reg!

I have have a lanes in my mmc 177 his videos on YouTube to help with setup and understanding of the process is top notch I combined mine with a ratworks short stroke hammer and hammer spring so to set it up I’ve stripped and rebuilt the ultra so many times I could do it in the dark but the end result was worth the effort imho…👍🏻

I’ve now ordered a lane mk10 reg, honestly it was kinda owed to him due to his videos. Super helpful would have been lost without them.
But I’ve literally just went to order an ratworks lighter spring and they’ve just gone out of stock 🤬😆🤣

All my reg's are from Rob Lane and honestly I have quite a few 😂🤣😂🤣
i never know if i will need to fit one to another one of my rifles

I ordered a reg from Rob on Thursday evening, it arrived this morning. As usual, included an excellent tutorial with photos , O rings, a drill for the t.p. , stand off, grease and a free pocket utility knife. You don`t get much better service than that.
Pete.

100%, just had the same experience myself. Ordered Wednesday came yesterday morning and I’m very impressed with the contents he couldn’t have included more and the manual was very easy to follow, lane himself was happy to help with the questions I had also. 10/10 for service

I also have both .177 Scorpion T10 with Lane regulator and .22 Ultra with Huma and previously AA RN10 I fitted a Lane to. The scale on my Huma doesn't represent the pressure it produces and the sticker came away, the Lane doesn't have a scale anyway. I don't really have a complaint about the Huma but have spoken with and good help and advice from Lane regs so they're my first choice.
