Still looking for a target pistol to buy . It seams the more I look the more confused I become. Don't want to spend a ton of money to find out a bit down the line that I am total crap at it and will never master the black art of pistol shooting.
So II have been looking at the basic end of the market for pricing.
What are your views on the Gamo compact. ? The only problem I can see is they say the trigger is heavy.
But can be ne made lighter by changing one of the springs in the trigger. I would be very grateful for all your options please. As I'm sure that people in the group will have come across my dilemma before.
Many thanks in advance.

I got my shooting buddy one for his 60th a couple of years back.
He fell in love with it in about 10 minutes. He's never messed with the workings and shoots it how it came. Although he's not a tinkerer anyway.

They are a lot of pistol for the money out of the box. (Hard case comes with it too!) If they can be made even better with a bit of DIY, then WoW. And no recharging or stuff to worry about either.

Be well.

I’ve got one that I enter the 6yard target shoot on here with it’s brilliant for the money only thing I’ve done is the trigger spring mod to lighten the trigger

Thanks for the advise I really appreciate it. I will ask you all for a bit more advise if I may in another post if I might.

Great for the money, my advice buy used £115-£130 if you don't get on with pistol shooting you can move it back on without loss.

That is a very good suggestion. Thank you.

If you want sport shooting, better buy something more sportive. Used izh-46, for example. Or tau-7.

Compact is okay for a small money, but it's better for plinking. If you go further with target shooting, and buy then something more interesting, you'll have to get used to shooting again

We met some girl competition riders who were practicing with the Gamo Compact, I was impressed, I bought one!

Tetrathlon, often involves using air pistols for the shooting phase. The Gamo Compact is a popular, accurate, and single-stroke pneumatic air pistol often used in these types of competitions, specifically within Pony Club activities.
