Old Daystates

By and large they are easy to service, the old ones have very few o-rings so don't tend to leak very often.

No A/T fitted on any of the examples I have got.

I have a brass cylinder Huntsman 'Low', three Huntsman FTR Mk1's (didn't intend to have three of them but when offered the second and third examples at very little money it seemed rude not too), a Huntsman Mk2, an LR90 and yesterday I finally picked up a model 2000 serial number 9.

I have had others in the past including a Midas FTR, a Harrier, a couple of CR-94's, a CR-97 and an Air Ranger, but I particularly like the ones I have now.

These are the ones I currently have pictures of:

Love my Harrier, o rings are larger section than all the modern stuff so when I pulled it apart to inspect I just put it together again nothing required.....

If you go back far enough its a nightmare, I have a mk1 Huntsman FTR that I picked up for £125 because it was missing it's hammer and spring.
A call to DS didn't help as even they admit in these days it could have any number of parts fitted as they didn't seem to have any QC at the time, proper drawings on a fag packet job.
This is late 80's/early 90's so check ypu wouldn't need any major parts.

Im sure the Midas huntsman mk1 was the first super gun making 30ftb and were a favourite for Rentokil to have and use

Is anyone not worried about the cylinders on these? Some will be close to 40 years old now.
It is a worry, one of the reasons I stripped the harrier but mine looked as good as the day it was made. I know that's no test but no rust or signs of damage.

Were the rats bigger back then?
I think they asked for a gun to be made that could knock seagulls from roof tops and feral pigeons they needed something that had plenty of power --that is what i was told and that there was not that many mk1 Midas huntsman's made for general sales and some that pop up are stamped up Rentokil--They also used BSA cold hammer forged barrels

Yeah. The sea gulls round here can take your arm off so I can see 30fpe being a requirement 😅

What you need is a CR-X, I hear they're very common, and cheap.😁
Terrible rifles......I will save my fellow airgunner's from having to don a false beard and dark glasses at the range to hide their embarrasment, by generously offering them a BSA Meteor and a crisp £5 note in exchange for their, UGHHH..CR-X.

Because I am generosity personified:)(y)
