Anyone use a HIK Stella 3.0 SQ35?

Ok, it might be a bit late to seek others experiences on the above thermal scope as I’ve already pulled the pin and ordered it
Ive given up smoking (again) and thought that id treat myself to something that will keep me focused on staying quit by spending that money that I save on something nice
I’ve used thermal spotters for a while now and want to go full thermal to include the rifle scope too.
Do any of you fine gents or ladies use this particular scope for ratting? I plumped with the sq35 due to its 640 sensor so in theory clarity should be more than adequate at general rat ranges. It has a nice low base mag of x2.5 and from the research the image holds up to nicely to a mag of around x5.
Yes, I’m posting this hopefully for someone to tell me I’ve made a great decision and it’s the best thing ever! Would like to hear real world experiences.
If it doesn’t do what I’m hoping it will do on the rats, I have a fall back plan of mounting it on either one of my rimfires or centrefire for bigger pests.

I bought a factory refurbished unit from Optics Warehouse. Not had it yet but will defo give a comprehensive review of it when I get it. I’m hoping it may come tomorrow

Ha, appreciate that buddy, that’s too kind of you!
I love my Zulus’ and alpex’s but many a time when I can 100% ID a rat that’s in undergrowth with the spotter, I can find it a bit of a mare finding it with the nv scopes. Granted, the nv works absolutely brilliant when they are exposed though.
Hopefully this new addition will help counteract that

I love my Zulus too, part of me buying one was so I could spot garden wildlife but didn't realise that it lights up the bushes so well you can't see whats behind
So I'm currently saving for my first thermal but just the handheld mono scope type. Unfortunately anything 35 and 640 is out of my league unless my lottery numbers come up.
Remember my offer though as I'm sure your be upgrading soon

Not got the 35 but have the SH50 ,and ABSOLUTELYwould not be with out it Stella 3 ,stunning clarity starts at 6 mag and I use on Rats Rabbit and fox several of my mates have brought one on seeing mine out in the field you should be well pleased with yours

Thermal spotter is a game changer for fox but I still like to see eyeshine with an Alpex 4k that operates well in most weathers. Thermal scope is good though for confirming hits with a splash of body matter. Great that you’ve given up smoking as I packed up at 40 and am still going strong at nearly 75 which I don’t think would be the case if I continued to smoke. Enjoy your thermal.

Well it’s arrived
Now this was a ‘factory refurbed’ unit. You wouldn’t tell. It’s like new, not a blemish on it, and I can only assume it came with brand new accessories ie battery charger, batteries, cleaning cloth, cables etc-they were all in new packaging and mint. Even the case and box it came are like brand new.
Anywho, managed to get it mounted to my BRK Sniper (terrible name for an air rifle I know!). Set it up whilst tethered up to a power bank.
Initial impressions are positive, picture quality blows my HIK Falcon FH35 spotter into the weeds! And it really holds up well when zooming in (something my spotter will not do)
I managed to zero it at 20yrds using normal ‘splatter target stickers’-it focused well on these.
Have inputted all the data for ballistics and confirmed its setup right by shooting it at different ranges from 10yrds to 55yrds. For the targets above 30yrds I screwed some tek screws into some homemade wooden target plates and got a blowtorch on the screws to really give me a positive aiming point-worked a treat Getting 3/4” groups at 55yrds using 25.39 JSB Monsters. Rifle is running @ 44ft/lb so the ballistic calculator only really comes into play at short ranges-sub 20yrds as above the zero range she’s flying pretty fast and flat for a big pellet. Which brings me on to a negative-minimum ranging on the LRF is around 10yrds, below that it won’t range or adjust the aim point. Not really a big issue for me as I use this rifle for more open areas for obvious reasons-definitely not in small enclosed spaces/barns etc (that’s a job for my Zulus V2 clad NP02). I have made a mental note of ‘mildot’ holdover on a TMR type reticule for close ranges though.
It’s actually a lot lighter than expected, feels a lot lighter than my Alpex 4K LRF. Controls are familiar to me-pretty much the same menu setup as the Alpex’s. But as I’ve been using Zulus’ lately it’ll take a little while to remember the button layout instinctively.
The focus wheel is the same as the Alpex at the objective end-although not as stiff. Not a huge fan of having the focus wheel here, be nice if it was on the side turret like a conventional scope. Think I’ve got a coaster in my cupboard somewhere, if not I’ll definitely get one to go on it as it can be a bit of a faff reaching over and trying to feel for the focus with gloves on.
It’s currently having a good charge in the cabinet before a night out on the rats, hopefully the weather won’t be too bad

That is very good value. I was looking at these myself as seen a few vids on YouTube of guys using them. Look good
What’s their UK backup like if anything goes wrong with them?
I went with HIK as I’ve heard good things about them with customer support. Believe they have a UK base that can carry out repairs etc if the poo hits the fan?
Anyway, couple hours out on the rats this evening. The scope worked flawlessly, like it a lot. Picture quality is on another level to what I’m used to. The low base mag is great for giving a nice wide few so easy to find your target after switching from the spotter to the scope. Love the green ‘monochrome’ (think that’s what it’s called anyway) palette colour-really nice contrast and sharp image.
So far so good. Seems good on battery life too, only went down one increment on the battery indicator and it was always on or in standby mode. The auto wake up feature works well too, switches itself back on when you lift the rifle and then goes to sleep when the muzzle is pointed down.

3 year warranty with Oneleaf and should any issues need to be dealt with the unit would comes straight back to me and I would personally oversee the return back to Oneleaf and be the uk point of contact
