The AGF 2025 Friendly 10m Pistol Competition

It was nice enough weather at lunchtime today to do some shooting for the first time this year, so I decided to get my competition entry done while I have the chance. I've only been a bit of dry-firing over the winter, so I had no idea how I'd do at actually putting holes in card. Turns out I was a lot better than expected, but my sights were off on my first card:

I adjusted the sights down a bit, shot another tester, and then shot my competition card. I'm pretty pleased with that, for the third target of the year.

Had some time today after work. I believe this is one of my best attempts. Target scan say 89, but I think it’s a 90.
The 4 o’clock 9 looks really close. I’ll let the group decide.
Cheers

With the picture enlarged on here there looks to be a gap between the pellet hole and the 9 ring. There is a slight paper tear into the 9 ring.

I am yet to start my pistol adventures.

We had a bit of decent weather this afternoon and I had the time off work, so I got a few cards shot for the 10m Friendly (y)

I've barely shot my pistols recently, so I did a few cards to warm up and then put some fresh ones up to shoot for the comp with my 2 x PCP pistols so here are my entries for Feb:

PCP - Steyr EVO 10
Econ II pellets
89 (2x)

PCP Feb - Steyr.webp

PCP - Walther LP201
Econ II pellets
91/100

PCP Feb - Walther.webp

Shame about the 7 that got away on both cards, and that the EVO 10 group was running lower than the practice cards but happy with that and keeping them all in the black after so long without regular practice!

If the weather is decent tomorrow, I'll see if I can get a CO2 and a Spring card done as well before we run out of time :)

Well, I’m almost embarrassed to post this, but it was a bit of fun and an honest go with an old gun I haven’t used for years.

Sometimes you just got to send it mate regardless...

That's the sort of groups I generally get with spitfires though through the rifles

I had only these, and an unlabelled (boot polish) tin of rounded end pellets, that don’t fit this gun at all, but work far better than the spitfires in my Webley Junior, but it jumps so much single handed, I could barely hit the card! Maybe I’ll buy something in .177 that hasn’t been in a cupboard for a decade or more..

It's now March, so here are the results for February:

PCP - @Decker39
Spring - @wazgilbert
SSP - @Modski66

And the overall winner this month is Modski66.

Here's the breakdown:

A special mention goes to @wazgilbert for winning the wooden spoon and the Spring category at the same time.

We didn't have any CO2 entries (unless I've made a mistake), so dust off your CO2 pistols and you might be able to do the same this month.

Well excuses time -
Checklist I set myself after last year's last round

Get some practice in - couple of goes with the HW45 Boxing day so sort of - check ✔️
Reseal and get the Mito decently shootable to enter the PCP catergory - not a chance ❌
Reseal the FAS 604 as although it shoots brilliantly (and easily) but 1.2ftlb rips every type of card - see above ❌ o-rings still in drawer from last year
Order CO2 for the B96's - didn' happen but was gifted a few - sort of check ✔️
Fit new draw bar to green B96 to get it back up and running properly - nope ❌ parts still in drawer after year
Order a new rear sight for the black B96 so I can get two fully working pistols rather than hybrid made up of two slightly different models - oops forgot ❌

What I actually achieved
Order crap weather (I shoot outdoors) for most of Jan and all but last couple of days of Feb - check ✅
Get totally swamped with work (1 lunch break all month )and family commitments - check ✅
Realise on Fri 28th Feb that the weather is still and sunny and I haven't shot/submitted cards - check ✅
At this point realise that, realistically, as I am 90 miles in to a 165 mile journey to Norfolk for a family (in-laws) get together that I'm not likely to be able to submit any cards - check ✅
Get back yesterday and set aside 20 min to have a quick practice today - check ✅
Realise I appear to have lost the ability to count to 5 (still have 5 fingers on each hand so not related to the Norfolk visit ;) ) - 6 shots on one card, 4 on another - check ✅ Homer face palm (and no, I didn't shoot 6, realise and then shoot 4, genuinely thought I'd shot 5 at each card but had done 4 then 6)
Hey ho, at least the grouping was pretty good Shrug tt
If life doesn't interrupt -

Those sharp eyed folk will notice its not my original AP20 Club. I bought the black/blue grip to go on my AP20 club last month.. MrsD stole it as she liked it better than the green/black one she had (hence it being on my club in Febs pic, then she decided she wanted a FWB P8x, so when she got that I stole her "old" ap20 pro as although both OEM mediums, the blue/black one was a much better fit than the green black one
