Hi,
first post here. Back into air rifles for the first time since my youth!
Wow, a lot has changed over the last 40 years!
So, after three months of deliberation, I've settled on a FX DRS as my first 'new' Air rifle.
Decision was multifaceted.
1. Would control small vermin
2. Had to be PCP
3. Needed to be accurate
4. Easy to carry, load, shoot
5. High availability of aftermarket parts & service
6. Didn't look like a hyped up potato or nurf gun.
Well, now that my FX DRS arrived and I've been using it for a few weeks, I'm VERY happy with it.
The Air rifle is everything I expected it to be and believe I've made a good choice.
I opted for the synthetic stock, as I live on a rural property and was quite sure it would only be a matter of time before the stock got scratched up - hence why not the wood stock option.
If I want to be hyper critical, the only issue I can find is that the barrel feels a bit 'loose' in the stock. By that, I mean if you 'shake' the Air rifle up and down, the barrel lifts about 1mm up out of the stock. I did ask the dealer about this (after I received it) and he said to nip up the screw a little to see if that took out the 'slack'. I've not done that as to be honest, it really isn't much of a big deal. However, it is worth pointing out - and I also think perhaps FX might have put a second screw in there somewhere!
The other (minor) design flaw in my opinion is the lack of a lower picatinny rail , however was aware of that when I purchased. Whether or not I'll need it - time will tell.
I have matched up my FX DRS with a Pard Nightstalker 4K - with excellent results.
Finally, I am thinking about the Sabre Tactical or Delta Force chassis for it - but we will see how this Synthetic chassis plays out.

Good choice and welcome to the forum 👍. I’ve put mine in a saber tactical stock
And totally transformed the handling

This is encouraging after the Zogg debacle.
I was about to push the button on one.
what is the FX warranty on these???
I am under impression only 1 year and non-transferrable.

All FX airguns have a 3 year warranty ( not transferable).

Three years - which is pretty good. I spoke with four different dealers here in Australia and they all told me the same thing - that FX air rifles are amazing, however, one of their advantages is also one of their pitfalls - that is that they are easy to work on and/or modify. It's because of this that nearly in 100% of the 'warranty' cases they've experienced is from user fiddling and not knowing what they were doing. Not saying that against anyone on this forum - just passing on comment.

That's FX dealers go to excuse for anything that goes wrong.Ive returned a MK3 impact fac for a refund and my new mk4 has gone back for repair at a week old.Neither were fiddled with.I did have a MK2 that played me up but l stripped and rebuilt it myself, never gave me a problem afterwards.

I saw my first 'poorly' DRS last weekend and not too impressed TBH and refused to work on it - it transpires it's the replacement for the first the owner bought that was returned under warranty as it wouldn't hit a cows arse at 3 yards. This one has also gone back, refunded and a shiny new HW100 bought instead

Thanks for the review, I've been hovering over the buy button for the DR'S (synthetic) for a few days now. Very tempted.
Was aware of that Delta Force chassis, looks amazing. Had a quick look but not yet go nd that in the UK.

Pulled the trigger last night, it should hopefully be here come the weekend.

I have the 177 in a Sabre tactical chassis and a .22 black synthetic stock for hunting. This gun is wonderful. I'm so in love with it . I had to have both calibres. The 177 steals the show.
