Took delivery of my fourth Zulus about an hour ago. Exactly the same as the previous three so popped it on the HW100KT in the exact same place as before. Bit limited as to how far back in the garden I can position a target so had to rearrange the lounge furniture so I could position my shooting bench far enough back to give 15m all the way through lounge, kitchen and out through patio doors to 'far' end of the garden. One shot at the target, second to make sure first wasn't an erratic, switched brain back from Thermnight mode to Zulus mode, freeze-framed, moved reticule, saved and third shot right through the bull. Does it get any simpler than that? I almost feel like I know what I'm doing. I love Zulus.

I know what u mean it took me weeks of trying to sus it out and asking loads of questions again and again , nearly gave up on it at one point , but like u i now think ive cracked it thank F

For such a technical bit of kit, the manual, ESPECIALLY the photos are pants,
and as for the APP, I think any kind of manual is non existent.

Russ is one of the Zulus experts as is Billy @GPCBILL. I like the Zulus once I got my head around the system, but I always feel that Arken/DNT could have made the setting-up easier for the end user. A set-up wizard (Not Russ or Bill) but a app to guide you through the process.

Is he the guru of Zulus - sorry but new to the scope so been using YT for info.

I have two Arken/DNT 5-20 lrfs I may get another! Trouble is they are set up perfectly now but Its been months since i set up them up. I will have to consult the rubbish manual again for a refresh to do the set up!

You won't, it will all come flooding back to you.

I recently set-up the (loaner) Zulus ZHD520R V2, and my treat-to-me ThermNight TNC335R (about to go on my new/replacement .22" FAC rifle for pest control)...

On my AirMaks Krait I literally just zeroed each @30m which was pretty intuitive / guided on-screen, then in the scope menu went down to Ballistics, switched it to on, then completed all the info it requested in-scope / on screen (you don't have to use the App). It's a doddle to do. 🤓

This happy-snap through the display was the Zulus V2 on my .177" FAC FC Maverick compact...

A few pointers...
  • Measure muzzle velocity yourself so it's accurate.
  • For the ThermNights measure from centre of upper objective lens to bore.
  • Get your ballistic coefficient (BC) from your pellet tin, t'interweb -or my post on here.
  • Use G1 for airgun pellets.
  • You can ignore temp and altitude for airgun ranges.
Happy shooting! Cheers. Russ
