Pro sport. Elegant lines, lovely bluing . Mmmmm.
Safe to say the Pro Sport is in the lead by a country mile.Yes. One of my friends suggested I sell some of my "least favourite" guns to raise a bit of cash. So many people do not seem to grasp the idea that pretty much everything some people own is bought for a specific reason. We don't just randomly acquire stuff, it's all stuff that we want/like for what it is.
I wish I had the patience to go through all 180+ posts here to see how many votes the Prosport has got.....
Pro-Sport has a barrel shroud.Leaving just the immaculate smooth blueing of the solid barrel.
I had a really good look at a mach2 it’s hanging on the wall at Perkins , Martin took it down so I could have a shoulder and a close look . Such an amazing creation has to be seen to appreciate itPro-Sport has a barrel shroud.
The Venom Mach 2 which was the work of Venom & Ken Turner & did the barrel/ compression tube transition in a much more aesthetically pleasing way. It also did the under lever much better both aesthetically & functionally.
The Pro-Sport is a good looking rifle but it’s not the best looking ( only my subjective opinion) but it’s undeniably a beautiful gun to many many people![]()
I haven’t been lucky enough to see one but from the limited amount of pictures it looks gorgeousI had a really good look at a mach2 it’s hanging on the wall at Perkins , Martin took it down so I could have a shoulder and a close look . Such an amazing creation has to be seen to appreciate it

It is attractive, I have a walnut stocked model. They look somewhat like a centerfire sporter, but a bit on the pudgy side. I think it would have looked better if they had made the cocking lever black, eliminated that scalloping on the front of the forearm and overall slimmed down the stock a bit. To me all of the underlevers look on the obese side, at least my two AA models and a couple of the HW, 75 and 97 models. The little HW 57 under lever is nice and trim, but lacks the power of these other big guns, but that is part of it's appeal to me. I can carry it, shoulder it and shoot much quicker than those guns weighting almost half again as much.Pro sport. Elegant lines, lovely bluing . Mmmmm.
Yes, the Pro Sport has a barrel shroud but it still retains the clean consistent lines without the incongruity of a moderator. The added thickness from the shroud just gives the gun an extra air of solid quality.Pro-Sport has a barrel shroud.

Fwb sport has always been a favourite of mine maybe one dayI like simple break barrels. out of mine i'd say the mercury challenger, fwb sport & original mod 35 are the most pleasing to my eye. AView attachment 737228Although I do like the simple looks of my old bitza HW 35 too.
To many great British companies have been bought by foreign companies or investment groups & British airgun manufacturers didn’t escape that fate. Many companies rely on customers believing long standing British companies are still British, for example Land Rover & Jaguar are owned by TATA an Indian company but ask people if Land Rover is a British company and they’ll say yes, same for many with BSA for example.
Air Arms aren’t my favourite manufacturer but at least they are a British owned company, and you were correct in how well the guns are finished, the quality & the brands status. How long they stay a British company for is anyone’s guess, but even they source major parts from foreign manufacturers. I hope they remain British for a long time to com

Well, it being aluminium would be a factor!Yes, not obvious why AA didn’t blue up the cocking lever.
If it was steel, a Prosport would have the mass to have its own gravitational field!Well, it being aluminium would be a factor!![]()
Of course, that only begs the question "Why is it aluminium?" Surely not for weight saving.
If anyone started selling an easily swappable steel one to match the rest of the metalwork, I would definitely be interested...
