What to do with empty 12 gram CO2 cartridges?

I've got a small, but rapidly growing, pile of empty CO2 cartridges, and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what to do with them, other than throwing them in the recycling bin?

The only idea that comes to mind, is to put a small threaded eyelet into each one, and hang them up with a bit of string, and use them as swinging targets.

I think quite a few people make targets from them.
Or earrings but aren't saying.

Yes, I attach springs to mine and then use them as targets. . They wiggle like crazy when hit.

At my club, there are now ten of them at 65 yards.... we play a game. The game to shoot them all but to get the last one wiggling before the first one stops.

I've drilled out the piercing holes to 2.5mm, and superglued steel eyelets into them.

If the glue doesn't hold, I'll see if I can find some eyelets with a 3mm machine thread on them, and tap the holes to 3mm, to fit the eyelets.

Just tried one as a target, and the BB barely left a mark from 6 yards.

Think they'll last a decent length of time, especially as I'll probably be missing them, more than hitting them.

Using them as targets is fine, but be VERY careful of ricochets, especially in the back garden as pellets could leave your boundary

That’s a great idea. Where do you get the springs from.

I use mine for needle-file handles, with a bit of glue to secure them, plus they are magnetic so sit on a magnetic tool holder.

You can also drill through the side of them screw them loosely to a post and use them as spinners.

At my old range in Essex, someone had made up a frame the could take around 30 of them, sitting nose down in 1/4" (ish) holes in strips of wood. There were always dozens of them lying about, so you could fill the frame and blast away for 10 or 15 mins depending on how good you were...

That’s a great idea. Where do you get the springs from.

I bought mine from Ebay. . Cheap and cheerful.
Basically the thinner the wire the softer the spring will be, and more wiggly the target will be.
