I don't shoot airguns a huge amount as they only tend to come out when RF or CF is not suitable but I have in the last year or so been more active with airguns, and as the bug increases, I have picked up more airguns.

Rather than swapping moderators (or do you call them silencers?) between guns which is a pain in the arse, I am thinking of buying a couple more so they can just live on the guns to make life easier.

So I need standard 1/2" UNF mods. I am not that bothered by out and out performance in terms of the highest amount of sound attenuation but it is more an exercise in reducing the pop from PCP's. Really I am more fussed about size and weight. While I understand that smaller and lighter will probably mean less sound attenuation, I am not fussed about that.

So what is the lightest, smallest and preferably cheapest (or at least on the cheap side as these guns are not shot that much) moderator out there that still does an honest job of reducing some of the muzzle report?

Thanks guys.

silencers dont exactly weigh a great deal , just an off the shelf does what it says on the tin would be a hwxlk, maybe able to pick a used one up for around £70ish but depends what your idea of cheap is , otherwise 3d printed ones are plastic and cheap probably people on here could knock you one up for £25 🤷... bare in mind silencers can effect accuracy so pay peanuts for cheap sh!t and it could throw your shots off

Recently got an SFS Gnat off the forum. Must say I’m quite impressed by it. New they’re £65 and not far from you. They’re just under 6” long.

For very skinny mods, and ideal for use on break barrels (where aluminium mods aren’t really great if you use them as a cocking aid), I find the old Parker Hale MM1 a fantastic mod. Not the highest attenuation, but they look great and are boom-proof.

Huggett Atom. Got one on a 99 with an adapter and the male 1/2 UNF one on an S510. Does a good job and nice and light.

An off the shelf decent mod is gonna be upwards of 40 quid to whatever you wish to pay, weight negligible 🤔, sound deadening more important 😉👍

I'm pretty sure the lightest usable ones I have are from @mattw975. He might be worth a DM if you are happy to order a few of similar spec.
The only trouble with forum bought ones, is remembering the source, especially if purchased via the earlier forum.
