After taking out the steyr for a date on the squirrel the other day , I decided to take out another old gun which I haven’t used for a very long time .
It was my old rapid 7 mk 2 , screwed the bottle on and it was still filled up with air , fired a shot at a target and it was spot on , can’t remember when I used it last , must have been a couple of years ago .
Anyway I was working at the workshop for an hour , so I open the back doors so I could see the squirrel feeder . It was about 5 pm and nothing was around accept for some little birds feeding on the table , and a few pheasants underneath the feeder .
I was working away and about every 10 min I would look out the door to see what’s about and no squirrel , then around about 6pm I was thinking about shutting up , I look out the door and a squirrel was on the feeder
, went and got the rapid and rested the gun on a piece of wood I clamped to the door .
I was 38 yards away from the feeder . Scope was on 24 mag and pull the trigger and whack Straight through it s head
Went over to take a photo with the rapid and call it a day .
Lock up the workshop , jump in the car to drive off and there was another squirrel on the feeder , slowly got out the car and got the gun out of the boot , loaded the gun up and by this time the squirrel had gone , there was a pheasant on the table instead , then suddenly I saw a squirrel in another tree about 25 yards away eating a piece of sweet corn .
Rapid was right on it and whack that was number 2 , the pheasant jump off the feeder and another squirrels was there and bang that was number 3 . Look like it was going to be very quiet but ended up with 3 in about 10 mins
Had 17 off this feeder now . And the rapid still as good as ever , one gun I would never sell
