I've been having a bit of a spring gun day today and struck a deal with a friend for an old Webley Tempest in .22cal. It came in what's left of its original box complete with the instruction leaflet and the parts diagram under the lid. It's not in mint condition but given that I reckon it's probably 40ish years old, it's in pretty good shape. The writing on the side of the forend has all but worn away and the blueing on the barrel looks a little dull but a quick wipe over with some GT85 on a cloth lifted it a bit though. The age is a guess based on the condition and yellowing of the paper bits. 🙂

At 10 yards in the garden this afternoon it was bashing tin cans nicely and with a bit of practice I was grouping shots within a 3in circle (mostly).

I haven't owned one of these since I was a kid so there's definitely a nostalgia hit going on. 😁

It looks to be in fine condition for its age. I find the Tempest most enjoyable & satisfying to shoot and is still my favourite Webley pistol!

The pistol of my youth, loved it and it's my next purchase when I find one, it was responsible for the demise of everything from clothes pegs to the odd Starling ( not proud of that ) and if in the mood we would go down to a local Pot Bank and shoot the discarded Cups and Plates discarded in piles ....... Aaagh blissful days 😊👍

Keep an eye on @Tinbum s posts and YouTube channel. I maybe mistaken, but i believe he is going to be getting hold of some new/sent back for repairs not repaired and boxed away... I think best you ask him or watch his YouTube video covering this tempist malarkey 👍😎

I like his channel/videos if that's the right term ...

Memories.

That's about what I paid for mine, here in the states in 79, or 80.
On the other side of that coin, I just recently paid 300 US for the one I have currently. 🙄
Well, as you probably read, I recently reported seeing a Hurricane for sale here in the UK for £400! I would politely suggest that the seller is being a tad optimistic......but who knows???

It's a bit insane, the asking prices, these days.
I pony'd up for the Tempest because I REALLY wanted another one, and it was as near mint as I'd seen, in quite a while.
It's one of those "never gonna let it go" guns, so, I really can't complain about it....
Much.🤣🤣🤣🤣

Don't blame you one little bit! The Tempest is still my favourite Webley pistol and although not originally intended......I currently have 4 of them.....but keep that to yourself!

.......and here's half of them!05CC53A7-8AD5-4E6B-9F83-400C50FD6A7B_1_201_a.jpeg

Very nice!😊😊
A custom set of Andy's grips are in the near future, for my Tempest.
Wish I could find an original set of combat grips, but, they're as rare as an honest politician and cost more than a crooked one.🤣🤣🤣🤣
