Vector Veyron illuminated recticle

I've got a Vector Veyron 4-16x44 FFP IR that is going on to my new HW100. I've never tried the illuminated recticle before so put a new battery in it and switched on at the highest setting.

The only part I could see lit up red was the central targetting dot. Could somebody with one let me know if this is right, take a picture for me. As the recticle is difficult to see anyway, I thought the whole thing would light up.

I believe it is the centre do that lights on mine, and it can be useful in low light.
Have you tried focusing the reticle via the objective adjustment ring on the eye end of the scope, try this on medium to max mag.

A lot of Vector scopes only have an illuminated ’dot’ so yours is normal I expect, as for the reticle that should be clear as crystal if you’ve adjusted it to yours eyes as described by @Gummage

They are a surprisingly good scope, maybe not the brightest in low light, mounts supplied with them are at times useless.

Thanks gents, i'm very impressed with the quality of the glass / scope for the price, this is my second as I have a 3-12x44 on my HW97.

I just find the recticle very small at low mags being FFP and in lower light / dark backgrounds hence getting IR on the second one.

Traded the mounts for some Sportsmatch straight away.

That's the norm, I have the same scope on my Katran L and an sfp on my Caiman x. Very good scopes for the money.

Know what you mean, can be disappointing, had the same with a wulf scope.
Due to my eyesight, ended up with a vortex, with a lit up xmas tree reticule, now I can actually see what I am supposed to be aiming at lol. But that came at a price.
Get advice, from mates at gun club, look through as many as you can, illuminated, before making a decision.

Illuminating only the centre part of a reticle -- sometimes just the central dot -- seems to be the way they are going nowadays.

In times gone by, the entire reticle used to be illuminated.
