In the last two years I have bought two Vector scopes(an Aston and a Veyron)and both have gone wrong from the off.

The Aston's parallax adjustment just didn't work with the image not focussing properly whilst the Veyron's elevation turret locked up whilst zeroing in after the first mounting.I use quality mounts and ensure I don't do the mount screws up too tightly.

Am I just unlucky or is the quality of these scopes poor compared with other scopes made in China?

I have had no problems with Hawke, Optisan, MTC and Nikko Sterling scopes.

Chances are you may have bought some of the other Vector Optics scopes under different brand names as VO make scopes for other brands to be sold under their own name .

Ive a few vector orion and a couple of tourex's plus had loads of veyrons. All been very good. Only trouble ive had with scopes recently is hawkes and wulfs both to do with windage turrets

I've got an Orion FFP, a Hugo, couple Ceratos n a Spina Optics Cerato version. All good, with no issues.
Think you've just been unlucky.

I have owned numerous Vector Optics scopes and currently own the following:

1 x Veyron 3-12x44 IR SFP
2 x Veyron 6-24x44 IR SFP
1 x Minotaur 10-50x60 Gen 2 SFP
1 x Tauron/Taurus 4-32x56 ED SFP

All of them work perfectly. I have also owned the Veyon FFP variants and Sentil-X models, which again, have been fine.

Think you've been unlucky, I've got Orion, Sentinel, Taurus and Continentals and can't fault any of em, but I also cant fault any other brands I've owned, including Hawke, MTC, Wolf, Keck, Elements and Nightforce.

I've seen many ads for Vector scopes, when in fact there the cheaper Victor scopes. Other ads Selling the Victor scopes will always have the title Vector/Victor Scope. Victor Scopes are now a sub brand part Vector scopes.

I've read way more good things about vector than I have bad...which is a food thing because people do like to (rightly) complain and post when things go wrong

Like the airmax, id say the vast majority are satisfied but one or two get issues. At least bith companies seem to have a solid and robust returns and warranty system.

Im currently deciding between buying a tauron and orion or going with second hand airmax!

I've owned a couple I bought second hand and thought they were excellent. Very surprised to hear one person has had 2 bad experiences.

Forgot. Also have a Veyron.
Just out of interest, were they new n where did you get them from?

I quite like Vector Optics scopes, they tend to produce scopes that exist in the intersection between value and features before diminishing returns kick in hard.

I own the following:

Veyron 4-16 FFP
Taurus 6-24 FFP
Continental 6-24 FFP

Can you buy better? Absolutely. But you pay progressively more for smaller and smaller improvements with each pound spent.

I have a veyron and a sentinel, had them for a couple of years with no issues. But I also have several Hawke, Nikko Sterling and MTC without any issues too. In fact, in fairness (touch wood) I have never experienced an issue with a scope.

Best value scopes For the money ,I can’t think off hand of better bang for the buck than the vector Orion pro max. The only issue is if the forward scope mount is tightened more than “nipped” it causes the parallax wheel to become, not rough but Grindy …So either the scope tube is quite thin and sensitive to clamping pressure or the tolerances it’s built to are very fine. Anyway, using a bit of double sided sticky tape for extra security in the top of the forward scope ring and lightly tightened and all has been well . Scope is mounted on a springer and no issues. Could just be my scope of course. Not had the same thing with any of the other vector scopes.
