I've changed the stock on mine.
Scopes are to be confirmed so far.
I've done a trigger spring mod, so, it's super, super, super light.
No real mods to the gun itself it's a top performer. So AT is still well and truly in place.
A very good platform to start with the HFT500.

A complete inventory of what I'm shooting with right now...
  • Rowan Engineering air stripper (@2mm) (link)
  • Fenton Shooting Supplied "Cube" cocking lever (link)
  • Vector Optics Sentinel-X 10-40x50 (link)
  • BKL 30mm single piece mount (link)
  • 3D printed parrallax wheel (link)
  • Mystery meat bubble lever + inclinometer (think I'll replace this with something less cumbersome soon) (link)
  • Front hamster by our very own @zx6fighter (link)
  • Self-made bag rider (similar available through zx6fighter here)
  • Pulled off that god-awful knob on the trigger blade and am now just using the bare stalk with a couple of o-rings on so that my position is repeatable
  • All but entirely eliminated the first stage on the trigger, it's now heavy enough I can't set the trigger off by dropping the butt on the ground from a few inches, but light enough that the break point is barely felt.

Been thinking about a reg, but it seems like the pervasive opinion is that it doesn't really add anything to the rifle, and honestly I think it shoots better than I do for the time being...!

Will likely never change the stock, these tactical looking jobs do absolutely nothing for me, give me a traditional looking rifle, it'll look classy even after a lifetime of shooting.

Nice job, my stock choice was for weight, i also love traditional looking rifles but this works for me, thanks for the reply

Oh stop it, I'm on the edge to get one and this is making me want to drive to Crawley Surplus and get one. I also like the list and links

Fitted regulator to mine and really pleased with it changed trigger bullet to blade, other than that nothing else but trying to save for a Benchrest rest stock

I'm thinking about options to fix what feels like an issue with stock bolt tension and the cylinder moving against the barrel.

For those with custom stocks, are they inletted different to the standard stock?

Plan to make a target stock in the style of XTI 50/Ev2/Pro Target.

Other than that a trigger investigation may be on the cards.

The stock bolt issue is seen quite a lot and it certainly affected my aftermarket stock, in my post (#3) above.

I have simply placed self adhesive eva foam around the cradle part of the stock - which is where the stock fixing bolt is located.

The foam is plenty cheap and available in an a4 size sheet from hobbycraft.

Once the rubber buffer is clear of the bottom of the airstripper - everything goes back to normality.

You could also rotate the filler cap spacer around a little - so the rubber bumper / nubble does not contact the bottom of the air stripper. I think that's a poor method though - but will get you out of a bind and help prove everything else is working well.

With the eva foam I've used there's about a 1mm gap below the air cylinder in the stock - allowing it to float and not compress when the stock bolt is in snug enough. I can slide a tenner (bank note, not sanitary product) all the way down from the tip of the forend, all the way to the boilermakers nameplate.

Cloverleaf has used wax impregnated card for the same purpose of floating and spacing. As long as the media used to "pack" the action against distortion is water repellent, conforms easily to the shape of the inletting / action, non marking to the blueing and does not compress too easily - there could be many materials that work.

Lots of great information and resources on here, as well as some great looking HFT500’s. I have started a list of what I want adding to mine now…..👍

I'm not the first owner of the stock, but I did know.

I can't remember right now - but will dig it out for you - I'm sure it's in an old post, or message somewhere.

It's pretty much the pattern of an ev2 factory stock - but, it is bigger - fuller on grips etc. It's very, very comfortable - yet, when I had an ev2 - I did not find the standard stock on that very comfortable at all.

I thought it looked EV2ish, great looking stock that👍🏻
