Underappreciated cult classic movies

American Graffiti, Two Lane Blacktop, Gone in 60 seconds, Vanishing Point, all 60s/70s road movies.. To live and Die In LA. (80s LA cop drama - awesome film). More mainstream but classic- Pat Garett and Billy the Kid 1973, Jeremiah Johnson, (Mountain Man). The Bounty Hunters (Yul Brynner). Westworld (original). ...

What's your favourites? Mine are Dog Soldiers (great acting, poor costumes!) closely followed by Idiocracy.
A couple of great films but maybe slightly under the radar.
Two amazing movies

Can I suggest dark city?

And evil dead 3 - The army of darkness - a movie where they decided to dispense with the horror aspect and just go for a comedy

Arh.. my brothers all time favourite. And one of mine too, because of the Greek Myths aspect, Hercules in New York.. full of bad editing and doggy plot, great fun but pretty dappy. Stars the voice artist Arnold Stang, top cat and officer dibble, plus
Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger pre Conan and Terminator days.

Return of the Living Dead - a near forgotten campy 80’s zombie film with brilliant practical effects

Critters - as above but with little red-eyed monsters, spawned some terrible sequels.

Death Wish 3 - Over the top, a bit crap but very fun. Fun gun fact: every time it was aired on TV in the states demand for the Wildey .475 magnum spiralled.

Dredd - hugely violent (slow motion bullet-penetration through a face type of violence) but with a surprisingly well executed story.

Withnail & I and Little shop of horrors
Excellent suggestions,

Don't forget

"An American Werewolf in London" - the sequel "in Paris" is markedly inferior, I reckon.

"The Blues Brothers" original, again the sequel is poor.

"Crossroads" - nothing to do with the cardboard Motel TV series!
Superb electric guitar "duel" at the end, even my 80 year old mother enjoyed it! (Steve Vai and Ry Cooder's hands)

"The Terminator" plus T2 - and arguably T3?

"Star Wars" 1977 and "Return of the Jedi" - although the intermediate "Empire Strikes Back" is my least favourite of the original trilogy. Widely very under-rated - often by those who have never watched them.

"Jaws"
"The Alien"
