Ultimate hunting 12ftlbs air rifle

Is the rapid mk2 still the ultimate sporting hunter?
It may have been but then they brought forth the MFR.......

and .20 flavour

Maybe I'm over thinking this one but if air supply was no issue then a pcp would be the obvious choice for me and that would be a HW100S in .177 that I fitted with a lighter cylinder.... I do regret selling that one! If it was a springer it would be my Prosport .22, I'm a big lump so carrying it around is no issue.

I don't know about the Rapid.....

But my BSA Super Ten mk11 .22 is racking up the tally since I started using it a couple of weeks ago, even a standing shot.

In fact racked up a couple more this morning (y)

I'd agree although the 90 is more tunable without stripping it all down.
As an HW90 owner I'd have to agree and disagree. The 90 is easier to adjust the power on, with nothing more than a stirrup pump and a valve adapter, about £50 of kit, plus a chrono. But the downside to the 90 is that huge lump of a piston, which you can't really do anything about to change the firing characteristics. On the 80, you can lighten the piston or you can sleeve the cylinder and fit a smaller piston.

I predict this thread will run for weeks.

Love to know your thoughts Andy as I’m waiting for some “real feedback” and not just sales hype 👍🏻

There’s a lot of positive publicity from new owners Jon, but as I’d often the case with airguns, it subjective. A few have gone back for over power issues.

I’ll be getting mine soon and once I’m happy the barrel is ok it’ll be apart.

Hello, I have no reason to pay that kind of money when you could get other PCPs better and cheaper, Also not a fan of HW rifles

Not for everyone I’m sure and it’s very subjective, as it often is with airguns.

Mine will be in a walnut stock as I don’t like using laminates for hunting. Funnily enough the price of my one isn’t much more than you’ll pay for a good Rapid MK2 or MFR nowadays and less than you’d probably pay for a TTR, Vanquish or other rarer model.
