Treated myself to a Mossberg hushpower 410

Lovely little guns , ive the 410 and 12g 2+1 mossberg Hushpowers , make sure you use the correct carts or its not an Hushpower
I use the Lyalvale Express 17gr 5 shot 3 inch Magnasonics , very quiet but limited to 25 to 30 yards for a safe kill
I also use the Fiocchi 19gr 3 inch Magnum 7.5 shot a tad louder and a bit more oomph :)
Never clean the moderator the more you shoot the quieter it becomes

The lead subsonic.410 loads that are available now won't be in three years time unfortunately. Subsonic steel loads in .410, if they become available, won't be much use really. Steel needs speed in small shot size which is all the .410 will throw a decent pattern with.

I’d hope you can confirm with mossberg via serial number?

I adore my mossy 410 hush. I think they’re bloody amazing. They’re not the most refined but so useful. I actually prefer shooting mine than my 12s. Part of main perm is right near village - I could be on the pigeons all day with mine and not bother anyone.

Let us know what carts you find good! I’ve a few fiocchis left but don’t like that they’re plastic wad. The others are 16g magnum eley I think or supreme game in 3 inch 🤔 the winchesters I trialled were tidy too!
I managed to get a slab of supreme game £100

They’re good mate. Or atleast are in mine! Mine gets treated as an inbetween gun. If we get cold this winter, there’s several acres of rape that I know will get smashed. It’s sometimes a better game plan on my perm, provided they decoy in nicely, to use the hush and not push them to the other side of the farm or blow noise down the flight line.

The thing with the Mossberg hushower .410's is that they're fixed full choke. Won't be suitable for steel so if you let the moderator gum up and then can't remove it you've only got three years using lead. Worth getting it opened out to half choke before then.
Was thinking of getting round to that but local gunshop closed down and me gunsmith died of cancer!

The mossy likes eley fourlong, good job cos Ive 4 slabs! Got a Tristar 3 shot semi in 410 and that will shoot steel and magnums! They tell you in the owners manual to put at least 100 magnums through it to bed it in! Me mate at the gunshop got a few back cos they hadnt followed the instructions!

Had a .410 Mossberg with both standard and Hush power barrels. The normal barrel was full choke. Sold it to Braces for £200 more than I paid new. Seems they are very saleable.

Likely to be special order, but best see if you can find a local stockiest for Cheddite to you and put in a request for the next time they get an order in. For me the closest is Ian Coley in Cheltenham…but that won’t help you much…

Ahhh (y) Don’t rely on them being in stock. Give them a ring - it may take a month to get them in, as they’d just tack them on to their next Cheddite order.

The Cheddite were ones I tried more as a novelty than anything else - mostly based on the payload. I’d doubt they could make a ‘full speed’ 24g in a 3” case and stay within CIP limits. They are fun to shoot though - especially at clays.
