Things to see and do in Norfolk

I love the broads area, villages like Neatishead where I went to school 60 years ago,and Wroxham, Irstead,Horning etc. Some of those small villages haven’t changed much in over 60 years.
Neatishead White Horse is still open and there is a community shop....the Village Hall shows the occasional film....we often stay in a house beside Gays Staithe at Irstead. The interesting place is Neatishead Radar Station Museum, its nearer to Horning....when its open and theres a guy who volunteers who was stationed there and tells you everything....really interesting.......my eldest brother was a Navigator and later a Radar Operator higher up the coast.

I was about 9 years old when the RAF station was sabotaged and set on fire impnwe noticed the smoke from the playing field behind the school. Was about half a mile away.I last visited the area in 2024.

I moved to near Dereham 7 years ago.
Bugparc gets good reviews from my new friends who have children. Insects snd creepy crawly kind of place so indoors might be handy for a rainy day. The tea room is a regular haunt of my builders they rate it highly. If it's nice Blickling Hall is good but I only know it in the winter as I go beating there. We went to Gressenhall once just for a cuppa in the tea room but uht milk put us off going again. A favourite place of mine, not so much wifey is County School Station. Tea room will be open at weekends from Easter park there and walk the old railway line to the pub at North Elmham. Lovely garden even has a veg patch not common for a pub garden.
If you need to go shopping forget Dereham on a Friday afternoon it's mad,Fakenham has more routes in and out.
Let us know how you enjoy God's county

A few more thoughts.....I think you will struggle to find waterfalls in Norfolk. If there has been some rain Bintree Mill has a fast flow under the old mill house. People often paint and photograph there it is very picturesque but it is private you cant go in. The old chap that owns it has some stories to tell and he is a top bloke. Very close to County School Station too.
Antique place in Swaffham can be interesting but Swaffham has little else(in my opinion, other than good butchers )a mate I used to work with moved there and now has regrets.
Lots and lots of holiday cottages all over the county get more expensive the nearer you get to the coast. Holt is full of posh shops, hope your credit card is up to date.
Other favourite places...Darby's Swanton Morley, The Bell Brisley, King's Head North Elmham, Royal Oak Bintree.

There's a shop that holds the Guinness World Record for sales returns in Norwich, they sell the stuff off at heavily discounted prices, it's called Norfolk and Goode.
😉
The shop next door doesn't accept returns at all! They're called 'Norfolk 'n' Weigh' 😂
