Just out of interest What would be clas as the perfect springer in .25? Is .25 an efficient caliber? Or does it require a lot more air to get it moving in .25? Would a hw30 make much more power in .25? Or is it a really inefficient calibre and your better which a bigger magnum type rifle, such as the mighty hw80? What are your thoughts?

The .25 calibre is less efficient than .22, I think that the HW80 makes a great .25 as it has more swept volume than any other HW break barrel.

The hw 30 just won't have the puff in my opinion, better a rifle with full power potential.

The BSA 635 magnum I had came pretty close, if only it had a true .25 cal barrel like the HW's. Thing I found with sub 12 .25's is they don't make light enough pellets for them, the milbro rhino's & BSA pylarm weights were just about Ideal at 18-19gn But the quality just wasn't as good as zee germans.....

.25 is efficient, it can be a chore keeping it legal in some rifles, as much as I hate to admit it the 99s would be the perfect rifle for .25 (had a 177 & didn't like it).
The 30 would at a guess probably produce a tiny bit more fpe than the .22 version but it's still designed to be a less powerful model.

My .25 springer is an HW98 and it doesn't struggle at all, I have tinkered with the piston etc but that was more to for a quicker shot cycle, not because of the calibre.

I have a couple of Hatsan springers in .25 both are legal limit i use four weights of pellet in them 19 20 26 and 33 all rounded to the nearest decimal point,"and yes i do incorporate the acctual weights when working out ftlbs".
The highest figures i have ever recorded with any of the .25 hatsans are 11.7ftlbs its imo hotish but very consistant and simply will not go above that figure so i leave it alone. i chrono most of the shots i take to watch for errors in fps and if they match any unexplained flyers, and i must say the .25s seem to be very efficient to me the genuine downrange retained energy blows anything else out the water its just not a moot point i am afraid.
The cocking effort is noticably soft, and the shot cycle is again lovely no other way to discribe it,
The Hatsans are let down by plastic a varying size of plastic lump or mod cocking aid thing horrible things they insist on putting on their guns, the plastic trigger guards and even plastic trigger blades on the airtacts really cheapen the rifles, and the Later PD and ED airtacts have plastic shrouded barrels which work fine but not to my personal tastes really.
These Hatsans are not a lot of money any of them, and as much as i would like a TX200 a HW97 or an hw80 i doubt i will ever find a used one and shelling out on a new one for me who already has two .25s that work fantsatic its just not practical for me fiscaly or otherwise.
The cometa fusion400 usc .25, yes looks good watched a BD review on youtube seems the ticket, but its not cheap , and me if i was spending that much i would rather shell out the extra on a plastic pig hw97kt in .25 i know hw underleavers have them and at their price point they are Incredible value.
No for me i have two Hatsans my lad 30 miles away has two more Hatsan .25s and we have £515 in all four of them brought brand new.
I must add this other than the plastic tackiness discribed above and elsewhere the Hatsans are good they are built to a price but not unpleasant with it the blacking is comercial the wood is finished comercaly but woods good its not auful at all.
I do not know of any other available .25s springers, and i will be keeping my Hatsans they are mostly rat guns and as much as i would like a HW97 .25 its not going to hapen you have to be realistic these Hatsans are not failing me anywhere on any front.
If they were i would bail out bite the bullet and have me a HW.25. but i simply have no decernable need.

TX .25. There are a few converted ones about but not many.
Making power easily too. I suspect a Mk2 piston with its shorter stroke will run better power management as suggested by @solar and by Tony Leach. There are some high intensity piston conversions available too that would suit .25 but perhaps that is over thinking it.
😉🤠

I rate .25 for hipower only. So 40j Hatsans or Gamos, or HW90.
I dó have lower power .25, HW98 but thats just to complete the set.
Had a .25 HW80, couldnt hit anything with it, went back to the factory. It had metal shavings coming off internally.

All Sub 12 set ups, all very accurate using FTT

I had a HW80 in calibre 25 that gave about 20 fpe but performed it's best with 30.90 grains Baracuda, ie a very loopy trajectory...

I have also used a BSA Supersport in 25 and that one had an even loopier trajectory besides the drawback of never noted any hits near the previous shot... 🙄

IMHO, calibre 25 works best for PCP...

Today I use this one in calibre 25, shooting Kings at 910-930 fps..
