Thought I would start a Taipan Vetran thread as didn’t want to hijack individual information threads with general gossip/info.
Start with a photo of your gun and any info you have or would like and hopefully somebody who knows less will benefit or somebody who knows more will help.

I’ll start it off

Taipan Vetran II tactical, 550mm CZ barrel, Synthetic stock.

Bipod extension rail made from 2 X 25mm Picatinny scope mounts and 25mm Picatinny scope add on mount 25mm carbon fibre tube total costs less than £30 if you fancy a go.

Taipan Vet 2. In .22

As we all know these come into the country strangled to sub 12. Mine struggled to make 10.5 fpe, shot count was 60 and reg set at 135 bar.
Really well built and good to work on.
Changed to Transfer port, dropped the reg to 85 bar, and changed out the hammer spring for a lighter one.
It's now makes 11.6fpe, with a spread of 2 fps over a 26 shot string, and over 190 shots per fill. Oh and, laser accurate.
If anyone is thinking of getting one for Christmas, then DO IT, they are brilliant.!!! 😀

I have unashamedly copied your idea for the bipod mount. Quite a lot of weight forward but still surprisingly manageable. View attachment 856770
Glad I was of help makes a massive difference to shooting off a bench I see you went for the 700 barrel. Great guns they could also do with a pellet seating tool like the slash just to push the pellets into the bands/O-rings a little further especially if trying slugs!

If I admit to being too lazy to search ... which I'm not obviously 😅... can I ask how it came into the country? Did you grey import of was it set upon by the dreaded Vector Air?

Mine was Wolfiek supplied, a Black Friday deal. I bought a Huben K1 from them last year as well.
They've been quite helpful with technical queries, spares and upgrade bits. I think both will end up on my ticket as have spare slots for 0.22 and 0.25 air.

Decided on the 700mm as I will probably end up putting it on ticket. I'm shooting 50m at the range but will move to the 100m soon.

Slugs seem to work better than my other sub 12 choked barrels not as tight as pellets at the moment unless there’s a sweet slug choice should be great in FAC!

Definitely not a "grey" important, but I have no clue who made it UK legal. It was just very wasteful and inefficient with air, that is all, very accurate from day one though 👍

It beggars belief that manufacturers and importers still bodge stuff to suit our power levels, I expect it with budget stuff as it’s mass produced but I’d of thought/hoped Taipan would of at least put the effort into what is an excellent high end pcp and allow it to shoot at its best at our and indeed all levels.
How hard is it to get a setting for sub12 and others and carry it out at assembly 🤷🏻‍♂️

I've been trying to source barrel kits for Taipans and Kalibrgun, do you go to wolfiek direct?

Range-right are the importers, I had no response to an email I sent them. I suspect they will only supply RFDs, you will need to order through them, probably 😀
I would be interested in a barrel kit to, I will be keen to know if you are successful 👍

I suspect it wouldn't be worth it to cater for the small UK market. To be fair, they have done their job by ensuring it is sub 12, and legally compliant 🤷

Id think there’s zero extra cost or time assembling a gun for any power level, the difference is a gun that just works or works at its best for the customer, I guess the customers experience is not that important over just making a sale.
Not just a dig at Tiapan but all those that bodge things to suit and ruin the products performance for the user
