T*sser Lorry Drivers

Blooming annoying at times
A little while back was stuck behind an overtaking lorry that took around 12 miles to overtake and to pull back in.🤬🤬

On the way to work daily driving over a bridge that crosses the motorway. I often browse left and right looking at the traffic. I lose count how many times two Lorries are side by side, with totally clear lanes in front as far as the eye can see..🤬

It's easy to moan about other people's jobs until you have to do it yourself.
We used to see how many cars we could get behind us. Even better now there's rear facing cameras.
Great fun to make a dull trip a bit more enjoyable.

When I moved into tractors, the summer became even more fun.

I'm going to take up cycling next.

They don't like losing any speed whatsoever so will pull out even if they're going a tenth of a Mph faster, if they do lose speed it takes them a long time to get it back.
This is how I had it explained to me so don't shoot the messenger it bugs me too.

I think it's a battle of wits until they reach a gradient, then one finally overtakes, coupled with load weight and horse-power. My own experiences tell me large aggregate hauling HGV drivers are the biggest plonkers. Must take a special course in tail-gating. The lorries with 'Don't Push' written on the tail gate.

I was an ex lgv driver of with over 25 years on the road, the things i have seen would open your eyes. The only bugbear really was when going uphill when a car would not give way and stop you when fully loaded, if i see a wagon coming uphill i give way. always remember it's the wagon van drivers who keep the country moving, if you have bought it they have brought it, without them your food shelfs would be empty fuel pumps dry. One of the very few industries that everybody relies on

It really does have to be some weird competitive latent road rage sort of thing with them. I've only been stuck for any real time/distance a couple of times myself but it really is a dick move of the driver in lane 1 to not drop just a couple of mph and let traffic pass.

That being said, I'm exactly the sort of git who'd do the same thing and grin to myself watching people grow frustrated....
