Looking for a smaller rifle for grandsons and thus is about a quarter of the price of an HW30 Junior

If it helps,I bought one a couple of years ago new from my local RFD and whatever pellets I put through it I couldn't get it to shoot straight, which I since found out is not uncommon with Stoeger's. It's sat in the cupboard since.
I went back months later for my usual root around in the seconhand bargain bin and bought an SMK 15 and Cometa 50 for £80 the pair and they were everything the Stoeger should have been. Basic but easy to cock and accurate with Econ 2's.

I'd avoid stoeger branded springers. This is based on trying to sort an ATAC S2 recently. For a rifle based on the usually fairly solid SMK XS19 platform.. It was hopeless and nothing i did helped it group consistently.

Im sure others experiences could be different. At the price point theres probably ones that work and ones that dont

I already have a Webley Rebel which is pretty lightweight, fitted with a Sharp Innova rear sight.
It has cost me very little so far and I'd never going to be a "Classic" so that might end up with its butt being chopped off.

I purchased a junior Stoeger last year - couldn’t justify the expense of hw30 so opted for the Stoeger as a garden plinking rifle

In short it was shite (sorry)

Pellets bounced off the paper targets clipped to a plywood board at 20m

Some didn’t even punch a hole in the target, nor would the pellet penetrate 330ml Pepsi cans !! Just put little dents in

It was like a wet fart.

I saw sense, returned, paid extra and walked out with a brand new HW30/22 - that punched holes through the same 12mm ply!!

Amazing little rifle. Love it.

It’s put me off anything Stoeger will ever produce in the future.

I have one and I think it's surprisingly nice to shoot, although I did strip it and relube, as well as a little smoothing on the trigger sear. Groups around an inch at 20 yards rested which is acceptable I think.
Exactly the same rifle as an SMK 15

I've shot a couple and they were pretty good in my opinion. I recommend them for smaller junior. There are some online reviews out there. Power is between 3 and 4 fpe so low power but enough for some paper and drinks can punching. It's around the same power as a target pistol. Power can be tweaked up a little but hardly worth it.
