I have searched high and low, both on the forums and on the interwebs.

Could someone point me in the direction of decent pictures of the new Steyr 'tactical' PCP that was shown off at one of the trade shows earlier this year - IWA 24 possibly?

I can only find this low res image:

I know there was a thread on here somewhere - but I cannot find it.

Thanks!

That is just the pro X with new clobber !!...or am I wrong?

I’m a big fan of both the Pro X and H5, I like bit of wood on my setups
But if it’s Tactical that floats your boat then you won’t go wrong with these
Cheers Jimmy for digging these out 👍

Interesting, but I think they missed a trick or were lazy by not keeping the pic/weaver rail right accros the top of the action. Not only would it have been better for QR optics and 'tactial'; but you could also have fitted some nice flip up iron sights.

For some crazy reason I really like the look of these Steyr's. Almost feel AR15 like.

So do we think higher or lower than it's wooden contemporary in price, and why?

It’ll be more ,

a chassis that’s machined & anodised will cost more than the current & simple walnut & laminate stocks .

The extra fittings , such as a buffer tube and if supplied as per the pictures with Magpul furniture will all add to the price.

Although the barrel & cylinder are shorter , the same amount of work still has to go into the production at each end of them .

Will be more than happy if it’s lower however I’d say Hope for the best , prepare the wallet for the worst 👍🏼

Damn you,

I'd missed this and had vowed not to buy anything else.

Now if they do a chassis to fit a current LG110 😍

I wonder how the fitting of a scope will work on the larger mag? It's a totally different set up than the Pro X. Also, they chose to fit a red dot (I'm guessing) rather than a scope, for the pictures.

I had the Steyr H5 scout when they first came out; it was supposed to be the H5A but I got sent the wrong spec. As it goes, I didn't mind the manual one; my mate had the H5A and just wasted lead with it. That said, he's still got it as it's just 'his words' so much fun.

As I recall I was never that impressed with the long range accuracy comparing it to my LG110 and Challenge probably too. As I'm a target shooter (paper and tin chickens) I'm not sure this is going to be right for me. That said, I recently bought the AGT Vixen as I liked the military look and feel, coupled with the accuracy. My Steyr Challenge won me my first foray into FT down here in SWEFTA way back in 2018 and hasn't seen competition since but I'm loathed to sell it as it was mine from new. However, this new Steyr might (might) kill two birds with one stone and if I'm selling it to myself; I sell two, buy one, but my collection has gone down and that's the right direction currently!

When's it hitting the shops! :)
